I use Internal Release, Mercy Stroke, Second Wind, Bloodbath (nice when you know you are going to be taking damage but still want to use Blood for Blood) and for the last slot Mantra. I doubt Foresight reduces damage by much, maybe 5%? I'd have to test it. And physical damage only. Mantra might only be 5% but I can always find a use for it.
The First Law of Roegadynics: "A Roegadyn may not injure a Lalafell or, through inaction, allow a Lalafell to come to harm."
Foresight raises defense by 20%, but yeah, I think it's somewhere near 5% mitigation; there were numbers posted somewhere, heck if i can remember where though. I took it off my bar many moons ago and have never missed it.
Not sure, but my survivability seems to go through the roof when I put up Foresight and BLoodbath.
Many folks play more defensively when they pop defensive cooldowns, too. Bloodbath piles up pretty quickly as well. It isn't that it doesn't do anything, I just see a better return on mantra. There are just very few situations where saving myself 5% of physical damage would outweigh 5% healing to the area.
For solo or something, by all means, rock the foresight... I'm pretty lazy solo, though. I only use LS heh.

Foresight can help you jump right back to Garuda EX without waiting for Wicked Wheel, if your overall HP is high enough.
Guys, I am struggling to hit from behind with impulse drive consistently after I start with heavy thrust. How are y'all doing it more often?
Single/Solo combat? It's easiest to use a Stun for positioning abilities. So you'll want to go Heavy Thrust -> Leg Sweep (To stun), then quickly use impulse drive.

In this image, underneath Ifrit, you can see this Red Marker underneath him correct? That "Pizza Cut-Out" on the Red Circle Marker indicates where Rear/Behind abilities, like Impulse Drive, will trigger. That's the area you want to aim for.
