I didn't originally as well but once you get multiply classes up to 50 the repairs will get costly and while I still find the self-repairs a bit cumbersome (especially since that idiotic "update" of the armory where the majority of the gear is now greyed out beyond recognition - what moron thought of that? why can't we keep the original red / green crosses as before??) the savings between 60 - 75 percent on repair costs (if you purchase dark matter from NPC) or even more if you purchase Dark Matter using your spare GC seals made me to change the mind plus "convenience" of being able to repair anytime & anywhere (asuming you carry enough dark matter) is IMO ballancing out the inconvenience of changing the classes to be able to repair. The saving on the cost of repair will add quickly over the time.

That said - I'd still welcome the option to be able to repair without need to change to the respective crafting class - you can still dissallow the repairs in the dungeons to keep it same as now as you can't change classes there.

I much prefer this change. It is far, far easier to tell which equipment I can use on my current class when the items that can't be equipped are greyed out, as opposed to just having a different icon on them. The green and red crosses are still there and represent that your current class can't equip that item but at least one of your other classes can (green cross,) none of your classes can equip that item (red cross,) or your class can currently equip that item (no cross.) I can't stress enough how much easier it is to manage my armoury inventory now compared to before, and that's not even taking into account the ability to sort it and the gear set icon.

The chocobo improvements are much needed and greatly appreciated. I
Are the chocobos getting any content like quests, gear story or anything to make the grind worth it?

I LOVE the idea behind companions but they really aren't needed for anything at the moment.

It's basically like this. A Tier 5 item at 60% will cost 80 gil to repair at the NPC. G5 Dark Matter is 80 gil as well. That's the break even point. That same item at 20% costs 160 gil. Yet still only 80 for Dark Matter.

This ^^^ Plus only displaying quests for the class/job you are currently playing. That goes for tracking and map markers please !!!

Look, I was level 50 within the first two weeks of launch, and when I did my Castridium/Praetorium, I had people yelling at me to skip cutscenes (and missed a few bosses). Since they designed the game where you have to finish the story to reach end-game content, they NEED players at the level cap to queue for these dungeons. And forcing them to manually skip cutscenes every 5 minutes isn't a good way to entice people to help newer players finish their storyline.
And this is what they're doing with the Duty Roulette. Since the changes to Wanderer's Palace dropping mythology, and the discovery of WP speed runs, CM/Prae are barren places now. People would go there simply for spiritbonding. DR is supposed to help inject life to these places, so people can finish their storyline quests too.

Yelling at people to stop watching cutscenes would stop when cutscenes are no longer skippable. They will probably complain about that, but they can't force people to skip cutscenes, when they can't skip it themselves.

This is mainly my gripe with the new Duty Roulette: Main Scenario too. They advertise gil and 200 Philo stones reward for queueing for one of these 2. Any player who wants these rewards really expect to just clear the dungeon in 20 minutes, get out and have their reward. They don't give 2 hoots about the actual intention of the DR - to help the newer players. Newer players be damned, I just want my 200 Philos. I can't care less if they're unhappy for me forcing them to skip their cutscenes. This is unfortunately how the MMO community is - nobody has time for newer players, nobody has time to wipe and learn fights together, and everyone just makes ridiculous expecations for their parties. I doubt there's anyone out there who sincerely wants to help new players in these dungeons, and let them watch their cutscenes. I for one would let them watch their cutscenes, but chances are unless the other tank is someone like me, you can expect the newer players to get left behind, since these dungeons can be tanked by 1 man anyway.

It also does not help with the new player's immersion. They can't be kicked and that's fine (kicking for "being new" or "watching cutscenes" is against the ToS anyway), but they can still be left behind, not able to enjoy the boss fights, not knowing what's going on.

Just to state this, even WoW didn't have meaningful stats on the character sheet in the beginning. it was overwhelming use of player ui that caused that change in WoW and it will probably follow suit here when we get custom ui.

You are looking at this entirely the wrong way. The DF is there for one purpose only - to put bodies in the queue for dungeons/scenarios people aren't queueing for so they can be completed and progress the storyline/reach endgame content.

If you are looking for a group to do the storyline and be able to watch all the cutscenes as you progress, you already have an option for that - the Party Finder. Make a group, check the box that says no cutscene skipping, and summarize what you are looking for. It will take longer than just queuing the DF, but that's the price you pay for having overgeared players help you breeze through it.

Trying to somehow force charity by penalizing players repeating content is the worst possible approach - and don't forget that there are full groups in DF Cast/Prae that aren't even there for the storyline. I guess it's cool to punish them just because they need philosophy.

Well the open world battle theme was designed to be the same everywhere I think...except it adopts instruments that kind of coincide with the normal background music of the area you're in.

As far as Dungeons go...yeah I wish the opening music would loop. I'm happy the Hard Mode dungeons have the original music that blends together between passive and active modes so well. Love it.

    What's wrong with "It's a Small World!?"
And if you don't like it why is it on your mp3 player?

I'm kind of reluctant to suggest this, as housing is ridiculously priced and out of reach of most players, but it would be cool if the implemented the option to build repair stations for your property.

I was thinking, if you had the station, you could click on it and just repair the stuff you have the ability to repair based on your craft level, without the tediousness of changing jobs. While you're locked in, people can click on it and sent you repair requests.

I was trying to think of a similar function for crafting where you would be able to access your retainers inventory too, but I don't know how that could work with the different gear you would have for different crafting jobs and such. Would be nice though.
