I'm hoping that in the future there will be a - Chocobo Dungeon where we can bring in ours and level them up for faster exp. Right now it's just depressingly long lol.

This is a joke, right?
I have a rank 6 DPS one - and he does pitiful damage when I farm high level mobs. He functions as a melee, and he's as slow as he is stupid. 99% of the time I kill the mob as a Bard before he even reaches the target and gets his first DoT up.
As for tanking, you must be doing pitiful damage, because there's no way he can keep up with the burst of _any_ of the DPS classes.
Healing? Wait, you need heals to kill anything in the world? I suppose the healing chocobo has the potential to be the most useful to eliminate downtime when farming, but having farmed as 3 different DPS classes, enemies die too fast and you regen too much inbetween combat for a healing chocobo to make any difference.
I use them, if you want to move from town to town they are a lot cheaper than teleporting. And as most of my gil is vanishing into repairs and DoH equipment at the moment, I am being a cheapskate and use the airships
That said, an option to skip already seen cutscenes would be a nice thing.
I'll agree with this.Well if something like that is the case they could at least gave an explanation along those lines.
Something informative like "We decided not to display crit % because it functions in a dynamic, situational manner that would be difficult to display in reasonably accurate way" instead of a patronizing "Nah, we're not going to do that. But good news: if you put more of that stat in your character it go up!"
* The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
* Design ideas:
Red Mage - COMPLETE (https://tinyurl.com/y6tsbnjh), Chemist - Second Pass (https://tinyurl.com/ssuog88), Thief - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/vdjpkoa), Rune Fencer - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/y3fomdp2)
They are great for leveling companions, my wife and I duo with ours out and alternate them between dps and healer as needed (typically only need healer for fates where we pull a bit too much aggro lol) You need to take your "at endgame" tunnel vision off I think. Are fates or leve's useless? No; they are a leveling tool, consider chocobo's as more than just a tool to help you farm stuff on your geared out lvl 50 job. Or would future adjustments to leve's and fates be a waste also? This is a joke, right?

You are comparing chocobo skill to your own. They are not intended to out-dps you. They are tools to assist. And they do that very well. As for pitiful DPS.. lol I'm a healer. If it is a fate boss I'm trying to solo, it takes a while, but I can usually manage just fine. On my dps, I use chocobo as healer only. But at 50, you don't really need them for anything other than fate bosses (and occasionally, treasure chests.) I think they are more helpful to your alternate classes as you level them. Having a rank 6 at level 10 is OP. Since I am leveling all of the classes, the chocobo makes it go much faster. But again, if your chocobo sucks.... Look at your skills to control him. You can make him move out of aoe. You can make him switch targets... Or if you don't like him, don't use him.

Oh, another thing chocobos are good for! Ever been out gathering and noticed no one was farming those boarskins? Smack them with your hatchet once, then let choco kill them while you continue gathering. lol
I posted our concerns in this thread to the Live Letter topic here:

Please go there and Like the questions so Yoshi P is more likely to answer/respond to them.
1 has merit but as several have mentioned it's just how square does things and tbh doesn't bother me too much (though in regards to the pvp bard thing I do think they should let the bards know). %s for crit/block/parry/dodge while nice aren't necessary to do your job.
2,3,4 FULLY agree. For the chocos I would say they do their jobs fine but not being able to mount (even if for RP purposes we use a non choco mount), no queue, and the fact that they are totally pointless (due to having no "difficult" content at 50 in open world) makes me agree overall
Skipping cutscenes yes I wish it was an option (just give us a toggle on the duty finder that way if were queueing for something new we check it off and huzzah) the music portion /shrug I played EQ for 15 years with the same battle music it's all the same to me.
I will admit, my DPS chocobo has been useful for doing higher level enemies in the Hunting Log when I've been grinding other classes, but that's where his usefulness ended. For fates, chocobos are still not a good use of a party slot because they still leech mob exp and a human player is better. You are comparing chocobo skill to your own. I'd like to see one of two things done with chocobos - make them equivalent to a player and allow them to actually fill roles in groups (and even DF). Or leave them as they are but allow them to be summoned without taking up a group slot (like current Arcanist pets).
