New Class/Job in 2.2?

DPSing with a one-handed sword and a shield isn't as unreasonable as you might think.

I don't have any issue with A class/job DPSing with a one-handed sword, it's just not really what I would expect out of a DRK from past experiences. However it is what I imagined both a RDM and BLU would be suited for w/ or w/o a shield in the off-hand.

The important thing to remember is that the weapon you wield as your job doesn't always have to match up with what you typically expect. Did people expect Bard to be the job that came out of Archer? Probably not, because you don't think of a Bard using a bow, and yet it still works for the setting. Do summoners normally use books as weapons? If they ever did, I can't find where. When you're dealing with the armory system, you can't shakle yourself to what has typically been done before and not allowing yourself to deviate from that.

I guess I forgot all about how BRD is setup and doesn't match how I would ideally expect either. I suppose instead of hoping for jobs that have matched my play style in the past I should hope for jobs that match my play style after SE completely remakes them into something I'm barely familiar with. I'll keep an open mind when SE releases new jobs, but I'm going to be upset if SE botches either RDM or BLU. IMO SE got away with the introduction of BRD and SMN, and by now it looks like it has blown over, but jobs that are far more iconic will definitely get more attention. And while I'm keeping an open mind I doubt others will.

I wouldn't mind them giving GLA another weapon, especially considering both CNJ/WHM and THM/BLM do. >3>

I honestly have no idea why SE decided to give them one and two-handed weapons. Just one of those things where I feel it would be better to drop the one-handed ones (keeping the two-handed ones because Thyrus and Stardust Rod) and give the one-handed ones to some other job. Daggers should also be taken from GLD and given to whatever class eventually gives access to the THF and DNC.

I'll keep an open mind when SE releases new jobs, but I'm going to be upset if SE botches either RDM or BLU.

I'm sure a LOT of people are gonna be upset if they do a disservice to RDM and BLU. We just have to wait and see.
