No thanks.
SE took ~50mil gil from me with the start of v2.0, the materials which were hard to obtain before are thrown at you now, equipment which was hard to get and expensive can be bought from AH for a few 100gil,...
I don't complain about that, it happened and there will always be changes in an MMO, and that's a good thing as long as it improves the gaming experience.

What will you do once SE lowers the cost of DL equipment? Why don't you complain about the raised mythology cap in v2.1?
Are you worried about gil? The only things that cost gil are repairs and buff food/potions.

But ask yourself, would you spend 700k-1000k gil for a HQ piece of gear without any materia, or would you do ~34 dungeon runs to get the materials for it, or would you do ~9 dungeon runs and get gear with similar stats?

I just know one thing for sure. High item prices are a nice thing for gilsellers, and nobody likes them.

That's great, because having fun is what games are made for. But is it fun to run the same 2-3 dungeons all the time or fight the same primals 20 times in a row?

I don't want to dumb crafting down. If anything, I'd like crafting to become more relevant for the game. The extreme material requirements of some 2-star items are nothing but a timesink for players who like to farm their own stuff instead of buying from the AH.

It doesn't add any positive aspect to gameplay and that's why I'd like SE to streamline Tomestone material requirements for 2-star items.
For example, said Vanya Breeches of Healing:
reduce items to 2 Hippogryph Leather, 1 Vanya Silk, 3 Twinthread (9 Tomestone items)
instead of 1 Hard Hippogryph Leather, 2 Vanya Silk, 1 Twinthread (27 Tomestone items)

How I see the new abilities:
Asylum - Get ready for my holy spam because that's the only healing you gonna get.
Aero III - I guess I should put some dots up before holy spamming.
Assize - I need more MP to spam holy even more, also stop getting hit in the face.
Tetragrammaton - I guess I should heal that tank now.
Stone III - There's less than 3 mobs left alive. - Ragns Meuhie

Just like what happened to the darklight weapons and materials in WP after that patch came out. Everyone started running it and prices took a complete nosedive.

The changing of these tomestones requirement is a non-issue when 2.1 hits. Right now tomestone mats are going for 15-20k in most servers, including Ragnarok. The reason why Vanya mage trousers cost 3 sets of philo mats because the rest of vanya gears only cost 1 set of philo mats to make (vanya robe, vanya hat, vanya hands, vanya crakow (spruce patens), vanya sash). So to make it fair that other tier 2 star gears have 2 or more gears that requires 2 sets of philo, the vanya mage trouser requires 3 philo mat sets.

All tier 2 star gears that only require 1 philo set were in 1.0 and all new ones that requires 2 philo mats set (3 for vanya mage trouser) are additions in ARR.

    well...

I did farmed some philos for peacock ore needed for complete accessories set for BLM. Guess what? It can cost even more than buying complete DL set, which also includes DL acc.

    9 peacock ore for 1 accessory, so that's 9 x 125 x 5 acc = 5625 philos.
(5 acc because i'm including 2 rings. 4500 if only counting 4 acc)

Now let's count the regular-complete DL set:
    head, glove, & shoes = 495 each
    body & pants = 825 each
belt, earring, necklace, bracelet, & rings = 375 each
    So that's: (3 x 495) + (2 x 825) + (5 x 375) = 1485 + 1650 + 1875 = 5010
(5385 if I include extra ring used supposedly for another job since rings can be worn by any job, but it's kinda overlapping)

    Go figure. lol

    Umm...

    BRD/ARC crafted set:
Head: 9 Potash, 9 Animal Fat
    Body: 9 Animal Fat
Hands: 9 Potash, 9 Animal Fat
    Legs: 18 Animal Fat
    Feet: 18 Animal Fat
Waist: 9 Coke, 9 Animal Fat

    Neck: 18 Animal Fat
    Ears: 9 Peacock Ore
    Wrist: 9 Coke, 9 Potash
    Ringx2: 36 Animal Fat

Armor: 99 Tomestone Items => 12375 Tomestones of Philosophy
Accessories: 81 Tomestone Items => 10125 Tomestones of Philosophy

Total: 22500 Tomestones for a complete set of crafted gear compared to 5385 Tomestones for a complete set of Darklight gear...
That's 225 dungeon runs for crafted gear, 54 dungeon runs for DL gear.
Just for comparison, a full set of ilvl90 gear would take 135 dungeon runs (@40 Tomestones per run) or 18 weeks (@300/week) and with v2.1 12 weeks (@450/week).

Let's compare some costs of crafted and DL gear for sets consisting of head, body, hands, legs, feet and waist:
DRG/LNC: 11250 Tomestones vs 3510 Tomestones with DL
WAR/MRD/GLA/PLD: 5625 vs 3510 (that's the cheapest crafted set btw.)
    BLM/THM/SMN/ACN: 9000 vs 3510
    WHM/CNJ/SCH/ACN: 9000 vs 3510
    MNK/PGL: 9000 vs 3510

Rings, wrist, ears and neck items all cost 2250 Tomestones compared to 375 for DL.
If you want to add that they can be as good or better than the ilvl90 accessories, that's right. But it takes ~23 runs to get enough Tomestones for 1 crafted item while you only need ~10 runs (@40 Tomestones per run) for the ilvl90 hero items.

And all of this is without materia.

Rejoice(?), I guess, since according to a dev post from yesterday JP-side all Allagan Tomestone recipes that cost more than 1125 will be adjusted down to 1125's worth in 2.1. A little late with CT gear making most of it obsolete, but better than never.

So some players loose some money in the short term, in the long term I think it would help the overall end game crafting market.

You could probably sell 3 cheaper i70 HQ items as fast as one but with a better mark-up if end prices were more affordable to the majority of players. On my server at least the percentage mark-up on HQ i70 is already non-existent if your *buying* the base mats on most items. I'd rather base material tomb cost = darklight gear costs so the market for people wanting crafted gear over darklight would increase. At least then I could make gil from charging for crafting the items without having to worry about price crashes.

Lower tomb cost on i70 increasing supply would also increase demand for materia, particularly tier III and IV, with potential knock on increase in demand of i55 craft gear for spiritbonding.
