This seems like a case of you taking the things you already have for granted, and wishing you had what the other class had. "The grass is always greener", as they say. Any 8-man group worth their salt is going to want both a SCH and a WHM, and this is because WHM has plenty of things they do better. For starters, WHM is better at pre-fight buffing, only their protect reduces incoming magic damage, and their stoneskin is almost twice as potent. During the fight proper, you mentioned that WHM has the better AoE healing, AND THIS IS IMPORTANT. Especially on fights like Titan or Garuda, you'll run into circumstances where the entire party is taking damage, and somebody needs to patch them up.

Finally, I don't really see SCH as having more utility/flexibility than WHM. While SCH has things like silence from one fairy, or slow via shadow flare, WHM has tricks like Knockback+bind from Fluid Aura, or sleep via Repose. WHM is also much better at area damage using Holy, making them very useful for dungeon speedruns, Wanderer's Palace (A WHM holying adds makes the 2nd boss a cakewalk), or even as damage mitigation using the stun effect.

SCH's main tricks are MP management, higher mobility during fights (Due to letting the fairy and DoTs handle things for a bit), and better single-target healing. This does not invalidate all the things WHM brings to the table in any way. Just because SCH has their own use doesn't mean you're not wanted on the job you are.

and this is coming from a white mage. I personally feel that scholars out shines WM in MANY ways. I do agree that WM has higher potency heals but the utility and flexibility that comes with the scholar spells/pets blows the high healing factor out of the water, especially since over healing has absolutely no benefit at all. Only thing I see WM doing better is AOE healing and that alone I would say would only be because of the amazing sustain you gain with medica II after the initial heal. Please can someone prove to me why I should stay WM?

Go WHM if you have a SCH friend.
Go SCH if you have a WHM friend.

The two are much better together than Two SCHs or Two WHMs, and every raid party at endgame worth talking about basically needs two healers.
They work so brilliantly with each other because SCHs shields don't stack.

There are a few differences: SCH is better at ST damage and ST healing, WHM is better at AoE damage and AoE healing. SCH can deal considerable damage whilst not affecting their healing output, which makes them better for smaller parties... but WHM gets their debuff erase earlier which makes them more attractive for lowbie dungeons, and Holy spam makes them a good choice for speed runs.

Oh cmon. If scholar was the universally better healer we'd see more SCH/SCH duos. However, since their synergy is utter crap - in comes the white mage.

Honestly, SCH need WHM...but WHM don't need SCH.

If there are two WHM in your group, having one switch to SCH isn't a bad idea; the sync between the two is great, and the additional abilities can be really helpful.

However, if you have a SCH and WHM already...don't switch. SCH do NOT sync with SCH well, so switching will be detrimental.

Burst Healing? The WHM wins that SOLELY due to Benediction, which happens to be on a 5 minute CD. Otherwise, it's SCH hands down by a huge amount. I'm discounting Cure III due to obvious logistical issues, and compared to regular skills on WHM there is nothing that beats the 1 GCD heal of an Embrace+Physick+Lustrate. On most tanks this will drop a good 3,000 HP with good gear using 1 GCD.
