(I'm a SCH) In terms of Titan, stomps hit for ~700 without a shield (maybe less with more DEF, but you're a healer so lolcloth). With a 300 preshield Succor that gets knocked down to 400. Throw up another Succor and we are back up to full with another 300-400 shield. Except we're not, because Titan NEVER stomps once. 1400, 2100, 2800, 3500. Stuff adds up quick. This is why healers are supposed to preshield and precast on stomps, effectively surpassing the total HP lost during the stomps and extending the party's durability.

But now we have a problem. SCH is the "superior healer" (/airquotes) so the group decided to double up on SCHs to capitalize on this awesomeness. Succor has a shield making it effectively a 600 hp AoE cure right? Wrong, because the adloquium effect doesn't stack. So you get ONE 600hp cure and then a bajillion 300hp cures trying to bring your party back from that massive tumult. At that point you may as well switch to Physick+Embrace spam to bring up your party individually. THAT is an 800 HP cure, but no shield.

Even better? Your partner SCH just ate a stacked plume, and now it is just YOU. Wait... what comes after plumes? Bombs, landslide, more movement, no casting, Gaol, then Mountain Buster? Oshi, now you have to swiftcast Adlo+Lustrate the tank, then repeat after Titan flips the table again. Oh look at that. More stomps.

A little spiteful? Perhaps.

Now with WHM+SCH. Now you have a 600-700hp Medica, a Medica II with regen, AND that 300hp Succor with 300hp shield? Bam, 1300hp in one GCD. Were you awesome and precasted, landing Succor mid-Tumult? Second dose of Medica+Succor. 2600hp. A single medica + succor cast from a WHM+SCH is roughly equivalent to 4x Succors from a SCH pair. That second dose I mentioned? 8 Succors. Not MP efficient. Not sustainable. Not likely to survive.

TL,DR: I hate Titan, and WHM+SCH is the way to go. Every. Single. Time.

Need them both, just too strong together. Though there is nothing I would trade for Lustrate, that spell alone cemented my decision on what healer to play.

Meh. I'm betting that with the right group of DPS'ers I can solo heal Titan as a scholar. Virus+SS knocks down the stomps to the low 500s. With swiftcast you can get full use of shield x2 (thus equal to Medica). Use the Virus rotation to regain mana by blowing Aether stacks.

Note of fairness: Doing so is easier for WHM. Also sheer raid recovery if stuck in gaol will be faster.

I will say that though the who is better debate is silly at best, my White and Red robes are the pimpliest of the outfits ergo all other things being equal WHM > SCH based on the robes...Sorry it's true, not being biased here.

All I want are buffs/changes to cure III & presence of mind... they should make POM reduce the recast time on all spells while the buff duration is up.

One scholar and one white mage is almost always the optimal healer composition to progress rapidly on. Anything else is an overgeared gimmick run or suboptimal (stacked whms (gross) / stacked sch's (DISGUSTING) )
