Yoshida emphasized that reaching level 50 doesn't mean game over. The story will progress with new and challenging quests and dungeons, adding more to the player's overall experience. Level 50 is actually starting point of the game.

Thats the wrong way to look at it and Yoshi has that incorrect. The game starts at level 1 not at level 50.
You should probably also face the facts.
#1 Final Fantasy Title Financially for Square-Enix -->> Final Fantasy XI by a huge margin.
600k? That is 100k more than XI's peak. XI held 400-500k subscribers for YEEAAAARS, YEARS, years, years. Long lasting subscriptions.
You know what FFXIV has to do to beat FFXI? Stay afloat with a high amount of subs for 9+ years and release 4-5 expansions within that time.
You know what the FFXI and 1.0 fanbase is doing for FFXIV here on these forums? Helping to make XIV's longevity a reality. I see only this community actually co-operating, unlike the WoW community that fight and bicker and turn a blind-eye to anything FFXI related.

I am glad that sooo many people had fun running for 45 minutes to a freekin zone, to pick something up then home teleport back to jeuno. Lol nothing has caused a larger sigh to escape my mouth when I realized I must do something like this. And fyi! Once you get a chocobo licence in ffxi there is NO danger in any zones! Woaaah!!
But yeah, ffxi was nothing but a headache. I came into it waay late but when I got to lvl 99 it wasn't even worth logging in unless I could play for 5+ hours because that is how long it took to accomplish ANYTHING. Mmm no thanks. I am sorry that us "casuals" are ruining the game for people who want that kind of game play... But perhaps this will do you good? You shouldn't be in front of a computer for 5+ hours!! lol
Very pretty, but completely soulless the way it is at the moment. Like a nicely dressed corpse.
What 1 person hates, another person likes. You change something for one person, it pisses off another. In the end, will it fix what some people are complaining about? I can't say honestly :0.
Well. You pretty much described the whole ARR experiment right there.
That aside, I don't think adding more wild areas with tougher monsters would be changing much of anything. Maybe a little balance reworking but outside of that I think it would be an exciting thing to bring over.
