    The world lacks danger.
    The jobs/classes lack interesting features and interactions with other job/classes.
    While i agree nobody wants to spend 30 minutes travelling from A to B, what is wrong with 5-10 minutes on chocobo? With all the teleporting in this game it makes me wonder why chocobos are even part of the lore in the first place.
    There is a major lack of quests even for leveling your first job/class never mind levelling every job/class in the game so far.
    The world is basically void of actual content compared to any other MMO i have ever played in it's starting months.

    Endgame is lacking from what i have read also but i have not gotten there yet and it seems to be a time sink that people apparently dislike.
    Fates are boring due to the fact that they are totally hammered with people that everything just dies.
    Levequests are ok but when you have to do them over and over just to level it becomes more boring than anything i ever did in FFXI or WoW.

    The dungeons are boring. Yet we are required to repeat them over and over to level.

    These are some of the complaints i have seen on the forums over the past few weeks, now when someone mentions anything from another game that would add something to the game everyone goes nuts claiming it isn't needed or nobody has time for that.
    I ask you this. Why do you play a game? Is it something you do for fun? To pass the time? If so why does it matter if it takes 2 months to hit max level? I can understand if it is boring repeated content like fates or spamming dungeons but what if it took 2 months and it was just 100s of quests mixed with other content that you didn't repeat once?

    Would you want to race to max level then or would you be enjoying the journey?
    Most people would agree that time sinks are just filler and the less of them we have the better but if something took time and it had legit content that wasn't just kill 10,000 rabbits and you get X weapon, wouldn't you enjoy it? If so why do we put up with and defend low quality gaming?

    Why argue amongst ourselves and against ideas from other games that work well, after all it adds choices, you might not want to take part in it yourself but it could take some people away from fates for instance, making them more enjoyable.
    While we are all arguing over silly points and taking each other too literally trying to defend our own idealistic idea of what makes an MMO, devs continue to feed us tripe.

    What we all should be asking for are more missions, more content that doesn't count as a mind numbing time sink, i know that MMO's do need some time sinks to make content last but it shouldn't be OTT like the 10,000 rabbit or running an instance 300 times.
    The more we fight amongst ourselves the less impact we have on the game.

    So instead of just moaning and fighting why not take ideas from each other and make them work. Talk them through so most of us are happy with the outcome and then we can present it to SE and they might take it on board.

    Also, i'd like to add that, while this may sound cheesy, times are definitely changing. People now a days are so distracted by many different outlets that our attention span has gone way down. While many of us, myself included, hardcore games miss the games we used to play, that formula doesn't work anymore. People want things to be done faster so they can move on to the next thing. It's like someone said a few pages back; if FFXI was released today, it would flop. People just don't have that kind of time, dedication, patience for a beast that was FFXI.

    I honestly don't see the beef here. Some no-lifers apparently thought this was your typical 24/7 MMO and burned through everything in a week...for what? To brag to anyone who gave a rat's behind? Now they're complaining about nothing to do (which more than likely translates to "needing more 24/7 raiding for gear the commoners can't get unless they kissed the behinds of our FC officers").

    The clamor for elements of XI could be understandable if it were more realistic and grounded in awareness that XI itself had to change over its 11 years in order to survive this long. SE couldn't sell a "Chains of Promathia"-type expansion in 2013. There's no way in the world people would buy into fights that almost REQUIRED specific jobs to get past level-capped fights like Mammets, Promyvion, Ouryu, and the Airship fights. Sky had to change, Sea had to change, Dynamis had to change, Salvage had to change, Nyzul had to change. Any and all aspects of XI had to change to meet the players' desire for honest rewards for honest work, which meant drop rates had to be raised to realistic percentages (as was the case in Dynamis some years ago), NM fights had to be scaled back in difficulty to allow more diversity in parties, and some gimmicks had to be removed altogether (level-capped areas in CoP).

    Real game starts at max lvl. Run 2 dungeons till your eyes bleed and maybe do Coil once-twice a week. Coil was a big disappointment in terms of a fun and exciting Raid btw.
    IDK if anyone beat me to it. But in P3 I only got to level 18LNC and IDK if it had a cap like P4 did, So in P4 I was only to do everything up to level 20 content. If I knew this in P3/P4 I would have said something.

    FFXIV is obviously more popular than FFXI for a reason.
    i played FFXI for 6 years but i can live with it and enjoy ARR.

    the problem is, this game has been remade for people who don't really have time to play games, casuals.

    just hop on your chocobo, or use teleport and you can be anywhere in the world in less than 5 mins. Seeing no danger from one end of the world to the other.

    everyone with the same gear at endgame, like clones of each other. FFXIV: The Clone Wars


    i had more fun just trying to get to Jueno, or Cape Terrigan, or finding my way through Castle Oztroja.

    how do we build great memories in XIV when there is nothing to strive for, nothing to lose, no sense of adventure.

    Sure there was drama over HNMs and such, but at least there was something to actually fight over.

    things that made the world feel alive, like having to use sneak and invisible to get through the world safely.

    i like alot about this game, i have been a XIV player since 1.0, and a XI player since its launch as well, but this relaunch of XIV feels watered down in some aspects.

Ultimately it comes down to the players to decide in the end if this game stays or fades away, but at the rate content has been consumed Ill bet more on fade away. I am from 1.0 and I had most everything done, Yoshi released a game that has very little endgame for the 1.0 players he dropped the ball on that, even though he new he had 1.0 players ready for endgame. Myself and others are still here because we have some hope left that things will get better.
