I have a 360 & PS3 atm, I like 360 a bit more but when I've read about the Xb1 I was chocked.
They're so narrow minded about wanting 1 console to rule over all you multimedia at home that they're totally neglecting the very essence of a console, the gaming.
Xb1 will be TV, Sport, TV, Sport, Skype, TV and some games.
With such an attitude I think that MS will fail at start and that they'll have to change their policies for the Xb1 to be successful.
On the other hand PS4 came up to people with open arms, welcoming game devs and suck.
I only saw the presentation but it was better than the Xb1 one, sadly.
And because MS is bitching so much we will never see Xplatform games in the Xb1.

When millions of people don't buy xbox 1's because of their BS policies, MS might change their find then.
I have already pledged not to buy an XBOX 1 (EVER), and I will stick to those guns until Microsoft announces a replacement for XNA Game Studio.
And personally, with a PC, the OUYA, and tablets.... I see no reason to buy a console. Consoles are dying and they are rapidly becoming unnecessary.

Of course they can, the problem is, they won't. Yoshi-P's already said they attempted to approach Microsoft about it and MS won't make those exceptions this time around. Even if this thread got to any of the devs, you'd only be preaching to the choir. MS needs to be asked to make the exceptions, SE's done all they're willing to do.
Personally, it seems silly that they currently require XBL Gold to watch netflix on the 360, but that seems to be indicative of whether MS would ever change their minds without a huge slap in their face with XB1 sales. The XB1 playerbase is going to start off relatively small compared to PC and PS3 owners who are currently able to play together. Then consider that only a fraction of the XB1 playerbase would even be interested in FFXIV. It would feel like you logged into your own private server on your first login.
That's why SE's not willing to concede to Microsoft's conditions for allowing the game on their system.

MS makes you have Xbox Live for things that are free else where. As such I will not enable my xbox live account on my 360 or buy an Xbox 1.
I mean seriously... I can buy a ruku 3 for 99$ and watch all the hulu/netflix/crunchyroll/funimation I want without paying roku anything. Or I could get on my google tv box and do the same thing (minus hulu). Or I can get on my PS3 and do the same thing.
WTH would anyone agree to pay for an Xbox Live Gold account when it's free everywhere else?
They should develop it on the wii u!![]()

So what?I still don't understand why an informed consumer would want to buy an Xbox One. It's not that MS might snoop on you while you're not playing games. Microsoft has actually patented methods to do so. Examples: awarding achievements if you watch commercials, restricting number of viewers and by age of viewer, and even detecting your mood and deciding which ads to show you.
Microsoft is also a US company, and as detailed recently, the NSA already regularly monitors unencrypted intranet data inside big corporations such as Google and Yahoo.
If you using internet or smartphone you are whatched. Privacy didn't exists for many decades. So I don't care.

I would and am hoping for an XBox one version of this game, but right now the ball is in Microsoft's court so to say, because Microsoft doesn't want cross platform play, and SE does, and I agree with SE. But it's sad, and this game would be awesome on the XB1.
I created a petition for Microsoft on this issue and it can be found here:

It might not do anything, but it's something.![]()

I have trouble understanding why you would want an X-Box 1. O.O; I mean sure they back stepped on all the horriblness they were going to do, but they still wanted to do it, and may work it in slowly once they sell their systems.

I don't think what they wanted to do was horrible at all, in fact, it was quite brilliant and very fare. However, what was horrible was how they presented it, they didn't have a clear message, and they didn't have a way to sell most people on the idea. However, liking one system over another is just a matter of personal taste and choice.
I'm super happy XIV is coming to PS4, however, I'd also like to see it on as many platforms as possible. Hopefully MS will open their eyes and allow XIV to be able to be on the system with cross system compatibility. I don't have high hopes, I just can hope.
I'd also like to see it on the Wii U, Mac, etc. the question for those platforms would be cost to develop the version. I think Mac would be more likely, but the game would run great on Wii U, put that's just my personal preference.
Anyway, I think there should be lots of talk on this subject, and I think MS, SE, and us the player base loose with policies like MS is imposing. Hopefully they will keep listening to the player base and bring this excellent game to their platform. After all, it already is running windows... not to much development time there, unless they wanted to bring in some of the system benefits, like kinect.
