SE should make a Xbox 1 version of FFXIV at the same time as PS4 version

If I wanted to buy a Xbox 1 instead of a PS4 then I couldn't play the game on Xbox 1. They released FFXI on Xbox 360 and there might be some 360 players getting a XB1 that would want to try FF14.

I see no reason why SE couldn't release a Xbox 1 version.

Microsoft is refusing to allow cross platform play with XBOX and they are demanding an additional subscription to thier XBox live to even play it.

MS is refusing to bend the policies for XIV like the did XI, so no go.

Mircosoft wont open up LIVE again for the whole cross-platform thing like they did for XI, so its not Square you need to convince (Yoshi wants too but wont because of M$) its Mircosoft.

Well Windows is a MS product and they do not care if it can communicate with PS3 users.

You don't think SE tried? They said NO. They made the exception for XI to get an MMO onto the 360.

After all the utter stupidity that has been the build up to the Xbone, is anyone actually planning to buy one at all? I know I'm not. I have no interest in a gaming system that you have to sign your soul over to microsoft to even boot it up.

They only reason MS allowed FFXI on the 360 was because they wanted Square to make games for the system to help sell some 360's in Japan so wanted some Japanese developers on board with the console that would make games that appeal to the Japanese market. Since then MS has changed their policy regarding XBL and won't allow cross platform play as they have their support now and Japanese devs are making games for the system plus it also seems they have given up on Japan as a market so are less willing to change these policies.

If the XBone tanks and PS4 is destroying it in sales, then we may see MS start bending over and allowing games that require cross platform servers onto the system. Even the Elder Scrolls MMO which is supposed to be coming to XBone is having seperate servers for platforms because of this.

Yoshida has made the right descision in holding off on the XBone version as splitting the community is not a good thing and if a day comes when MS change the policy you can bet FFXIV will be heading straight there as soon as possible to pick up the extra subscribers.
