This is one of MANY quotes from Yoshida about how all of modern mmo design revolves around WoW. Keep on trying to convince yourself that it was not designed that way if you like but at the end of the day it is what it is and they designed FFXIV to be as much like WoW as they could.
That quote is out of context and referring to the 1.0 dev team when asking about what he would of done. I've seen all the press about this game. But keep going. This is far more entertaining than not doing anything else today.
