    Why is almost every post from you in this thread stating how you can't believe some people liked certain things?     But seriously what I miss about 1.0 is how grounded the game felt, it had alot of issues but it nailed the athstetics it was perhaps a bit more style over substance but it had a great foundation to build upon (Not engine wise obviously) but I felt the grounded animations made the game feel like it had weight. Hell they even cut the momentum and turning animations due to the (False) complaint that it somehow actually slowed you down when it played the start/stop animations even if they could be interupted and had to real effect on your characters motion.

    The monsters felt like real animals at times, I remember when I first discovered that Efts would "hear" you and perk their heads up to pinpoint your location the next time you moved, if you stopped and waited you could actually avoid agroing them making them the perfect monster to block pathways making them avoidable but dangerous all the same.

    Crabs worked in similar mechanics they would see you and raise their claws allerting you that you were getting too close for comfort, but you know...damn those curious aldgoats might as well remove ALL the AI right?

    Ok I've never played 1.0 before but always thought that Coerthas was a bit depressing.

    And after seeing people talk about it and watching some videos, I just dont understand why they changed that amazing scenery into this dark depressing place.

    One thing I miss about 1.0...

    The necessarily lower server population.

    There are just SO MANY PEOPLE playing on each server now that I don't feel a sense of server community. I occasionally bump into people I know, but it's very rare. I feel that a lot of people are keeping to their LS/FC and likely don't know what's going on with others. In 1.0, I felt as though I recognized a lot of names. People remembered you.

    I suppose this is what happens with modern MMOs, and in no way am I saying there should be a population cap for each server now... but I did miss that about 1.0.

    I missed Coerthas not having snow. It was a very beautiful zone, and now it's cold and snowy all the time. I am only assuming that more areas will come out with that type of beauty later on.

    To people saying the zones weren't copy/pasted: they clearly were. Entire big CHUNKS of land (including rocks, turns, etc) were copy/pasted. It wasn't just 'the same clump of trees'. It seemed lazy and rushed. I definitely prefer the landscape now.

    I missed when there was some sort of reason to not teleport everywhere (anima). The teleport costs are super low and I've never noticed a huge dip in my money from teleporting/repairing. It almost seems like paying for teleports/repairs is an arbitrary necessity. For example, AK will give you something like 1k-2k per run, and teleports cost only hundreds. Repairs are much less, and you lose LESS durability from dying a lot than you do from running a full dungeon. (Test it -- after wiping all day on a single-battle fight, compare it to clearing a Prae/Castrum speedrun. You'd be surprised.)

    I miss when it was sort of a 'requirement' for WHM to solo heal a lot of things. This was my greatest passion/excitement in 1.0. I'm main SMN now, but I LOVED solo-healing everything. I still do, when given the chance, but a lot of these fights necessarily force you to have two healers. (Coil, for example, necessitates two tanks that take a lot of damage and thus two healers to keep those two tanks up at all times.)

    I don't miss class stacking, or the requirement to have certain classes for certain things. Example: AV.. Most people would go BLM at the start and switch to MNK at the end boss. I don't miss people 'breaking' Garuda's mechanics and skipping her Astral Flow with Black Mages.

    I miss the gathering and crafting system from 1.0.

    I also miss the community (smaller and more tight knit), but this obviously has it's disadvantages i.e. SE can't make money this way.

    I also miss not having to have insane gear. You could do just about anything (efficiently) while working on triple/quad melds or getting you DL.

    I miss the battle system, I preferred building TP through auto attack.

    I miss the controller system. I switched to Keyboard and mouse in ARR which is fine, but I preferred my controller.

    Does anyone miss the innovation and novelty that fatigue brought to MMO progression? I think we can all agree that it revolutionized the MMO genre in an unforgettable way, and I for one find myself missing it with each passing day.

    I miss how at 8:30pm on Monday every week, I wasn't done for the week on content in 1.0.

    By 8:30pm tonight I will have 300/300 Myth and Coil 1-4 done and can log out till next monday.

    At least with 1.0 AV/CC, I could easily spirit bind, chance for drops and run it a few times a night and have content for a whole week.

    I don't miss being absolutely amazed that a game could be THIS terrible, and chucking it in the garbage...
