Yep my pointI skipped over several pages so I'll comment on the first few.
As I understand it, the job system is meant to be a bit more rigid. They mentioned locking out certain cross class abilities and giving ones unique to that job alone. All this on top of ranking up a specific class for even opening them. All of this is supposed to create more specific party roles, a more rigid system. They even mentioned that the current class system is good for solo and casual party play, as it offers a lot of flexibility and variety. The idea of allowing multiple, unrelated weapons to be used on jobs sounds counterintuitive to the purpose of the job system to begin with.
If you do want to play whatever role you want, that sounds like it's the realm of the current class system. Jobs, again as I understand it, are meant to fill specific roles and will be a lot more rigid and defined. Obviously that also includes weapon usage.you can level up CONJ and unlock monk that just make no sense or be a Lancer and unlock monk.

But then that would mean making 2 new weapon classes which in turn would need 2 new jobs each.Yes and it should not be like that
Class A unlock Job A,B,C
Class B can not unlock job A,B,C he gets D,E,F
Jobs should not be link with just a wep to fix this issue so a Mar can unlock dark knight but now they use Scythe DRK can use GS but really at the end there main wep is scythe and should alway be that.
Why does it necessarily have to include weapon usage? That's the part of the argument that I don't understand. What is the bad thing about a Dark Knight that can use both a sword and an axe? I'm not being sarcastic at all. I'm asking honestly. Please break it down for me specifically.
It's probably as simple as say MRD completes DRK quest and gets the trait to equip a scythe.
The job system is obviously more than just play style from what I understand of the information it will allow us to use job specific abilities and traits whilst restricting us from others.
Say for example
CON > BLM not being able to cast white magic and vice versa for CON > WHM.

For a class system that is DEFINED by its weapon usage how would it make any sense for that to be the one degree of freedom in the job system?
I think we're also making the mistake of basing our ideas off of past FF jobs and their weapons. It does make sense, sure, for a Drk to use both Scythe and G.Sword from the perspective of previous FFs. Who's to say though that we won't be able to unlock two similar though noticeably different jobs that might fit into the general idea of "dark knight," one using a scythe and one using a g.sword.
Also I can't say it makes THAT much sense to rank up Con, unlock blm, and suddenly gain a high level of proficiency in G.Axe, a weapon I may have never used.
Edit: Oh sorry just wanted to add. There's nothing saying that you won't be able to use a weapon from the base class that unlocked the job. In fact, who's to say that they will even give us NEW weapons for jobs? Perhaps that will only ever be the realm of classes and never jobs.
I think we may be assuming far too much at this early stage.

You still do not understand my point.
How I hope it works.
1. Equip Fist Weapon
2. Become Pugilist
3. Level Pugilist to Rank 30
4. Quest for Monk becomes available
5. Unlock Monk.
6. Now no matter what class you are on as long as you are above rank 30 you can assign Monk as your job to modify your playstyle for that Weapon Class.
What I Do NOT want
1. Equip Fist Weapon
2. Become Pugilist
3. Level Pugilist to Rank 30
4. Quest for Monk becomes available
5. Unlock Monk.
6. You can now only equip Monk if you are on Pugilist even if another weapon is valid for Monk (Pole/Staff/Club) based on FF Lore.
I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders. Thank You SE, Thank You Community Team, Thank You Yoshi-P.
Ninja and Samurai would probably share the same class and most likely it would be a new one something like swordmaster.
This is exactly what I don't want to happen, explain how this would allow for more unique roles ?, which is the whole point of them adding job specific abilities and traits.6. Now no matter what class you are on as long as you are above rank 30 you can assign Monk as your job to modify your playstyle for that Weapon Class.

Well that was my original train of thought that each job would come with it's own kind of secondary weapon. So if MRD unlocked DRK they could use a scythe as well as a G.Axe. Then however would they add the ability to level Scythe or would it be tied to MRD's G.Axe.
To continue gaining ranks with say my DRK/MRD would I have to have a G.Axe equipped or would the Scythe take over from it.
The best names for implementing Samurai and Ninja are
Tachi for the weapon (Tachi can be either a "Tachi" (Ninja) or a "Katana" (Samurai) just by how its worn on the users belt.
The Class Name in Japanese the best option is 太刀士 or Tachi Professional.
The English name based on current English nomenclature for the Weapon Class would best be fitted to something like Ronin, Bushido, Parivr, Vagrant, or Wanderer. (I vote Vagrant for Vagrant Story and that its the closest english name for Ronin)
Once you level Vagrant up to 30 You unlock the Ninja Job Quest, Once you level it up to 40 you unlock the Samurai Job quest.
Etc.
