    The problem isn't the stunning, it's that Shield Bash is on the GCD. Other MMO's keep it off the GCD for a reason, it's meant to be reactionary. I wouldn't be surprised if SE pulls at least PLD and WAR stuns off the GCD at some point, but really they should have learned this lesson from the last 10 years of MMO's that already figured this out.

    Completely agree. Anytime I've missed a stun in dungeons it's because I had just hit something and triggered a GCD. I don't understand why Shield Bash and Shield Swipe are even on the GCD to begin with.

    Probably because they want offtanks doing the stunning, but what it ends up being is simply a coordination check. If you keep track of the ability sequence on something like Ifrit hardmode, where the pattern is extremely rigid, one mindful tank can do the work of what is usually left to two.
