I dont see whats wrong with stunning at the right time...I mean you're a tank everything should rely on us tanks and healers in the first place. Nothings wrong with having to interrupt a little bit every now and then.

Well, if you guys want to have Paladins that screw up and wipe the whole group, it's your prerogative. This is just Ifrit (and Hydra), but I hope SE isn't planning any more of these types of boss fights.

ive MTed this before and been the stunner @ the same time... the eruptions are on a pattern... am i missing something?
The problem isn't the stunning, it's that Shield Bash is on the GCD. Other MMO's keep it off the GCD for a reason, it's meant to be reactionary. I wouldn't be surprised if SE pulls at least PLD and WAR stuns off the GCD at some point, but really they should have learned this lesson from the last 10 years of MMO's that already figured this out.
Completely agree. Anytime I've missed a stun in dungeons it's because I had just hit something and triggered a GCD. Probably because they want offtanks doing the stunning, but what it ends up being is simply a coordination check. If you keep track of the ability sequence on something like Ifrit hardmode, where the pattern is extremely rigid, one mindful tank can do the work of what is usually left to two.
i barely got to lvl 50 and i barely heard of stunning a couple of days ago... so what you're saying that now i have more responsibilities?



They don't have to be stunned to avoid them. People need to wake up and move if that happens.
You have to hit ONE button that WHOLE fight.... how is that stressful
You will NEVER tank ANYTHING passed HM ifrit with that mentality



1) The stun is not off the GCD, which is what facilitates stun rotations
2) It's a perfectly avoidable mechanic and stunning eruptions basically gives people a reason to learn to not move out of the fire
3) It sucks to be blamed for the wipe of a group due to a mechanic people should be avoiding anyway instead of expecting the tank/offtank to make up for their not wanting to learn to move out of the fire
I could see stuff like the second boss in sunken temple working with stuns (and even then, that's if your group doesn't learn to move out of the marks on the ground). I would never expect that sort of thing on a HM primal battle.
* The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
