If you don't want people mis-translating information regarding upcoming patches, then the least you could do is translate the information to the four languages used by your customers before you release it. I don't appreciate the Japanese still getting preferential treatment as they did for ten years of XI. If you're going to accept paying customers from outside of Japan, then I expect that you treat the rest of the world equally.

The problem is not going to go away simply because you ask nicely for it to. I wouldn't expect people to wait patiently by, waiting for you to get around to translating everything.

although i kind of agree with you, it is this mentality that deterred SE from ever releasing official forums for FFXI, they didnt want to have to deal with doing that kind of thing, not a bias, just a hassle i think.

Well, that does call into question how committed they are to national servers.
When you make a game that has people from all over playing it, it is your responsibility to keep all your customers up to date regardless of what language they speak.

I think someone forgets time zones -.- by the time its day time here in the states its night time business closed in Japan. So remember they are 13 hours ahead of east coast america so that is why they get info before us... Maybe they have a time to release but do to it getting to Noon 13 hrs before america they get the info first?

Time zones don't have anything to do with it. If they released information only after translating it completely, they can release it any time they want. Yes, even when we're sleeping in the United States or elsewhere. And it'll be unmolested by people trying to translate it themselves, since they seem to be so concerned about that.

To those worrying about quest hubs, I think it is SE's way to make the world feel like it's actually alive and not just landscapes. FFXI had small and medium sized zones that changed the landscape from zone to zone in most cases making the world seem less boring. However, a game like FFXIV or Lord of the Rings Online (WoW?) with large region sized, very open spaces need other things that make the world come alive. LOTRO for example has small mostly hamlet (Wineport, Aleport, Gold bazaar, etc...) sized villages/towns/quest hubs along with larger XIV sized Cities all over the place not just in corners of the map. I personally believe this is a giant step in the right direction.
