Well, that does call into question how committed they are to national servers.
When you make a game that has people from all over playing it, it is your responsibility to keep all your customers up to date regardless of what language they speak.
this i totally agree with, it is non the less an international business.
15 abilities each? what is this... Kindergarten?A jack of all trades WHM... what is this 1989?
I think someone forgets time zones -.- by the time its day time here in the states its night time business closed in Japan. So remember they are 13 hours ahead of east coast america so that is why they get info before us... Maybe they have a time to release but do to it getting to Noon 13 hrs before america they get the info first?Dev team:
If you don't want people mis-translating information regarding upcoming patches, then the least you could do is translate the information to the four languages used by your customers before you release it. I don't appreciate the Japanese still getting preferential treatment as they did for ten years of XI. If you're going to accept paying customers from outside of Japan, then I expect that you treat the rest of the world equally.
The problem is not going to go away simply because you ask nicely for it to. I wouldn't expect people to wait patiently by, waiting for you to get around to translating everything.
Time zones don't have anything to do with it. If they released information only after translating it completely, they can release it any time they want. Yes, even when we're sleeping in the United States or elsewhere. And it'll be unmolested by people trying to translate it themselves, since they seem to be so concerned about that.I think someone forgets time zones -.- by the time its day time here in the states its night time business closed in Japan. XI: Walton [Gilgamesh/Carbuncle]
XIV: Walton Rowe [Figaro]
To those worrying about quest hubs, I think it is SE's way to make the world feel like it's actually alive and not just landscapes. FFXI had small and medium sized zones that changed the landscape from zone to zone in most cases making the world seem less boring. However, a game like FFXIV or Lord of the Rings Online (WoW?) with large region sized, very open spaces need other things that make the world come alive. LOTRO for example has small mostly hamlet (Wineport, Aleport, Gold bazaar, etc...) sized villages/towns/quest hubs along with larger XIV sized Cities all over the place not just in corners of the map. I personally believe this is a giant step in the right direction.
Tanaka's email to Yoshi-P last night:
"See?! SEE??? I TOLD YOU! You'll be screaming at them come September, mark my words! Man, **** those guys! SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP! I STILL hear them when I sleep, they never shut up. All that NOISE NOISE NOISE NOISE!!!!"
You complain more than anyone on these forms >_>
I can agree with Peregrine on this one. I mean just read this thread alone not counting the others.
Remember when SE released the game?
People: See SE never listens they don't care all they want is money. They could care less about the customers and what we enjoy.
SE: *Boots Tanaka and puts in Yoshi*
Yoshida: *Puts out polls and takes our idea into consideration of his own plan*
People: MORE CONTENT! MOAR ENDGAME STUFF!
Yoshida: *starts adding content*
People: WTF OMG WOW CLONE! INSTANCED CONTENT! SE PHAILS!
10.) If the current target claiming system were done away with, would you prefer for content such as dungeons and battle to be converted into instances as much as possible?
* "Instances" refer to those events and areas that can only be occupied by a single party, or certain characters, at once. This serves to prevent players from competing with one another for the same enemies, for example.

Does it not look like the Yoshi and Co. is busting their asses off dealing with retarded coding and a less than optimal engine to listen to us while taking what we want into consideration?
People: NO!
*Yoshida learns why Tanaka became the way is he*
TL;DR
You guys want another deaf eared Tanaka figure? Don't worry he is slowly being born.

Me and Tanaka'd make a great team. A hundred forum posters and Tanaka do not. Actually, a hundred forum posters and anyone do not. 80 of those posters will be ignorant about what makes the genre tic. Another 10 will just want their affected, personal wishes. About ten of them will be worth listening to.
