I'm confused. It took them one year to make Mass Effect 2, or to fix it? I haven't followed the game, so I have no idea.

All I want in the future is :
-New content
-Ishgard
-More guilleves and quest
-MY DARN CHOCOBO!!!
Those were all F'n expansions.. >_>
Sorry, but i got to page 7 and I just have to say that your bickering and crying has gotten on my nerves even. We don't even know what the dungeons actually are like. Not even Quest Hubs. This isnt a place to speculate not even TRANSLATE Japanese posts, because it simply gets misinterpreted and becomes a cry-baby fest.
Hurry up and wait.

some clarification: the patch isn't delayed in no way: people saying it would be done in may was speculation. the only official statement befor today was "somewhere in spring".Meh. I guess that means no big battle patch then.
A bit underwhelmed by all this to be honest. The fact that they delayed it at least a month doesn't help, either. I always try to remain positive and patient, but t's just odd how slowly they're working. Especially considering they're 100+ people working "night and day" to fix this game.
Second, obliusly the combat sistem don't come in a single solution: it's a very core feature, and would be impossible change it all anew only in 4 moths. hopefully 1.18 will bring a lot of feature, but in every case can't be completely new
edit@mug: yes, in the mmorpg industry it's the standard. You should argue mass effect 2 to doing it so :||
Well considering it was a single player console game that requires considerably less work than an MMO, I think the standards of how fast someone can actually create something does apply. This game has received more updates in the past few months than I've seen some get in a year or more.
All game development takes a long time, it's been a standard since the 70s. The time varies but as technology grew so did development time. Most games these days take 1.5-5 years to produce, MMORPG wise, updates takes months to years to produce and you generally hear about it when it's about to be released.
I've never played WoW and prob won't ever play it. People need to stop comparing everything to it. If a game is adding it, they will put their own spin on it. If you don't like it, leave. Pure and simple.
Some studios are better than other, most times it takes a long time, take D3 for example. Quality Control.
But then take TERA which has an insane update speed.
A call of duty game takes 2 years to create even with an fully steady built engine. Hell codmw3 is being developped by 3 studios lol But thats because IW are only in it for 1 year to ensure quality.
