So either that's the "new dungeon", or they're finally opening O'ghomoro up, or both.
Which may mean that Paglith'an and Xelphatol might be opening up as well, at least in dungeon form first. Who knows?

Those aren't dungeons, they're stacked battlefields. Dungeons are places like Crawler's Nest, Beastmen Lairs, Grand Palace of Hu`xoi, Promyvion etc.
But the western take on dungeons are what a lot of people seem to dislike because it doesn't feel like an MMO when you spend 99% of your time in instances.
You know that isn't instanced? Thats why you have to wait while someone is in there.
All instanced is, is being able to do the same event in the same place and allowing people to do this at the same time. Non instanced is like Nyzul where only 3 teams can go in at once because there were only 3 seperate sections of it on the Map. It wasnt instanced it was a whole map, when you entered you entered the same map as others.
Too bad bcnm, like dynamis, isn't an istance, but an area reserved to the first dude trading an object. A real istance permits multiple simultaneous party on the same area, like salvage or assault.
and surely i don't miss the times where a ninja could sneak in my linkshell run because he traded before me

Except for the fact that instances are only going to be used for dungeons, all of the content we currently have plus whatever else they add is still open world and not instanced. Even games like Aion have a huge open world you can explore and a handful of instanced dungeons. Those aren't dungeons, they're stacked battlefields. Why wouldn't we want r30 dungeons? Some of us don't want to do the same leves over again and abuse the system to keep getting max sp.
So, content is content. If you don't want to do it, don't. You just can't argue that there will be nothing to do now.
Meh. I guess that means no big battle patch then.Originally Posted by Yoshida
1.18 will see the start of our reworking of the battle system, as we bring in *some* changes to that area.
A bit underwhelmed by all this to be honest. The fact that they delayed it at least a month doesn't help, either. I always try to remain positive and patient, but t's just odd how slowly they're working. Especially considering they're 100+ people working "night and day" to fix this game.

Something like completely restructuring a majority of the combat aspects of a game is a huge project. They're adding to the class system, they have to balance all the classes, enemies, quests, leves, behests, etc... to work with the new system, create new content based on the new system and then of course test/fix/test/fix until it all works properly.
We don't even know all of what's in 1.18, just that it contains more of the battle changes.
If its the start, it'll probably be the primary base with auto attack. Even though people are working night and day, it still takes time to test and implement things to avoid what happened with XIV in the first place. Yes, I want to be able to have more things to explore and take down as a party, but it will take awhile.
Besides, who knows...they still might be able to get some of this stuff out in May... especially since they cant have the GM guy and npcs announcing doom and death for a month straight.

People worked night and day on Mass Effect 2 and it still took more than a year to complete. Time isn't an illusion.Meh. I guess that means no big battle patch then.
