The pressure to skip cut-scenes!

Tank here, and yes I'll be watching ALL of my cut scenes due to the impact they have on the story. The impatient ones will have to wait and if anyone tries to ruin the story I can just switch to the FC only tab I have in the chat window .

I'd LOVE to see them try to pull a boss without the tank ready.

Feel free to watch the cutscenes. My group of 7 will just continue to lock out any pug healer that decides to watch them. We're not going to bitch at anyone or ask them to skip cutscenes, but we're not going to wait up either. I'd prefer we could enter dungeons without a full party, but oh well. Looks like others will have to deal with it until our friends can transfer over.

If you already have your group of 7 why not just make 1 more friend and go with 8 and avoid the problem entirely.

If you want to watch the cut, watch it. If people are jerks about it, leave and find another party. They can sit and wait in queue for another tank/healer.

For the dungeons that we are talking about it doesn't really work like this at all. Some cut scenes happen in the middle of a fight. They will cause you to lose aggro and you will probably come back to a dead healer or two . Not all custscenes are like this but some of them are. It has nothing to do with impatient people.

When you actually hit 50 and do the dungeons we're talking about you will find out why people ask you to skip some of them. Especially in Praetorium. Not all cases will end in a wipe but some of them will depending on who is viewing. They are rather lengthy too.

We're not friendly and there's no point in getting another healer when we'll be ditching them once transfers are allowed. We can handle a week or two more of having our healer soloing the runs.

I'm very patient. I play for the storyline as well, and I will wait patiently for anyone who would like to view their cutscenes. I do expect the same in return, as well. You can wait two freaking minutes, so can I

See, this happened to me when I got to Praetorium (however you spell it, the final raid I guess). During the first cutscene, I opened my chat box to see if anyone was talking, first thing I see is "OMG SKIP THE CUTSCENE!" followed by a faceplant of letters on the keyboard, then "F**king cutscene watchers, skip the damn cutscenes". After that we just proceeded fine till we got to the first boss. Next thing that happened was three people (including the first guy) that were insulting someone else for watching the cutscene, after that they continued insulting them too after the group didn't wait up for them after we received the access to the magitek gear.

People need to calm the hell down, and give first timers a chance to enjoy the scenes firsthand. I understand you want to speed run, but give others a chance to finish enjoying the story for the time being before they start grinding for stones as well.

I can't help but to wonder how many people here leave their characters AFK overnight and yet have the nerve to complain about those who want to watch cutscenes.

Just wondering but is it possible this only happens when someone skips the said cut scene during the battle triggering the enmity list to activate?


I am pro-cutscene, and only really skip then when it's something I've done multiple times.


1.0's Nael Van Darnus Rivenroad had one of those mid-battle cutscenes, but as long as no one skipped and moved around, no aggro would happen.


From what I've seen on the JP datacenter side of the Duty Finder, there's been no mention of skipping cutscene, both from the Japanese and Western playerbase.

I've got no issue with cutscene viewers at all, even though I save them for the inn room myself. The problem comes from those later ones where unless everyone comes out of it at the exact same time you're going to end up with a few dead bodies and possibly a wipe on your hands! But that's something for the *devs* to sort out, not the players.
