I can't help but to wonder how many people here leave their characters AFK overnight and yet have the nerve to complain about those who want to watch cutscenes.

The problem when you don't skip the cut scenes in Praetorium and the one before it is that the fight will continue and you will just stand there and die. Sometimes a cut scene happens in the middle of a fight and the fight will not stop for you. When you come back you may find yourself dead. If you are a healer or a tank you could potentially be wiping your entire party for viewing the cut scene. That's why people ask you not to do it.
I asked my most recent party not to watch the cut scenes and they all raged at me. Halfway through the dungeon they stopped watching the cut scenes because they found out that I was right.

This. Watching cutscenes can and does get people killed. It is respectful to skip certain ones when asked for the good of the party. If anything, blame SE for having these prolonged cutscenes when dangerous events occur immediately after. I certainly don't blame groups for requesting you skip them in some cases. The problem when you don't skip the cut scenes in Praetorium and the one before it is that the fight will continue and you will just stand there and die. Edit:
Good thing you're in a party of 8 people with two tanks then, yes?Tank here, and yes I'll be watching ALL of my cut scenes due to the impact they have on the story. The impatient ones will have to wait and if anyone tries to ruin the story I can just switch to the FC only tab I have in the chat window.
I'd LOVE to see them try to pull a boss without the tank ready.

Actually, whenever cutscenes occur mid-battle the encounter stops until the target is engaged again. So if you skip your cutscene, and then go rushing into the fight again while your party roster clearly indicates people are watching the cutscene then it's your own fault. I only run dungeons with my guild now because of how terrible this community is. They don't mind if I watch cutscenes.
It drives me nuts that many of the best cutscenes are NOT viewable from The Unending Journey. What's the point of the stupid book in the inn if it doesn't let you watch all the good cutscenes with the voice acting and stuff?
What? People get mad if I don't skip cutscenes? Wow... I...really didn't even imagine anyone can be this rude. Mind blown. Well I hope those 2-3 minutes you just saved was worth losing the opportunity for you to gain a helpful friend for years to come.

For the dungeons that we are talking about it doesn't really work like this at all. Some cut scenes happen in the middle of a fight. They will cause you to lose aggro and you will probably come back to a dead healer or twoTank here, and yes I'll be watching ALL of my cut scenes due to the impact they have on the story. When you actually hit 50 and do the dungeons we're talking about you will find out why people ask you to skip some of them. Especially in Praetorium. Not all cases will end in a wipe but some of them will depending on who is viewing. They are rather lengthy too.

Just wondering but is it possible this only happens when someone skips the said cut scene during the battle triggering the enmity list to activate? For the dungeons that we are talking about it doesn't really work like this at all. I am pro-cutscene, and only really skip then when it's something I've done multiple times.
1.0's Nael Van Darnus Rivenroad had one of those mid-battle cutscenes, but as long as no one skipped and moved around, no aggro would happen.
From what I've seen on the JP datacenter side of the Duty Finder, there's been no mention of skipping cutscene, both from the Japanese and Western playerbase.

What pressure? I don't even see chat while i am watching a cutscene. ^_^
And even if i did see chat, I would be too busy watching the cutscene to bother reading the chat. =P
