The pressure to skip cut-scenes!

Yeah.. I was running Castrum and the people in the party were angry that I wouldnt skip the cutscenes so that they could rush the bosses, and when I didn't skip them, they began spamming the end of the game and everything that happened in order to ruin the ending of the game for me.

I find it incredibly rude and annoying when doing content for the first time people ask you to skip all the cut-scenes. I can fully understand that it may be a little frustrating to the players repeating the content but you should take that up with Square.

I did not buy a Final Fantasy game to skip the story. "Watch them on YouTube" Pretty sure my character wont feature in any videos on YouTube. I do not wish to view these scenes in crappy YouTube quality either.

For the most part i haven't had issues with this. There are a couple of cases though (especially the second to last dungeon in the story), where if anybody skips the cutscene, the fight starts immediately (even though other people may still be watching) and this can cause a wipe. As long as there aren't deadly reprecussions for not skipping, normally people don't complain about watching.

i had a problem with this because I actually read all my quests and watch all the scenes. One dungeon i was in, when we got to the final boss, I was watching the cut scene... by the time it was over... I WAS SEALED OUT OF THE COMBAT ZONE. WTF! so I just sat there. They actually died too. I was just DPS, so not sure how they didn't manage. BUT come on... im not skipping cut scenes unless I've already seen them... I don't rush others either.

Did anyone possibly consider that Square-enix put Token rewards into these Story dungeons for the sole reason of providing incentive for players to make up numbers for those needing groups to complete it.

Specifically the last 2 story dungeons, the timers to complete are huge and my Duty Finder group came no where near close to running out of time despite every single player watching the cut scenes in full. Any argument that people may be in a rush is rather silly, everyone is shown the maximum amount of time provided for a run and if you don't believe you can be there for that entire slot then perhaps it's best not to queue into it.

Feel free to watch the cutscenes. My group of 7 will just continue to lock out any pug healer that decides to watch them. We're not going to bitch at anyone or ask them to skip cutscenes, but we're not going to wait up either. I'd prefer we could enter dungeons without a full party, but oh well. Looks like others will have to deal with it until our friends can transfer over.

Sometimes a cut scene happens in the middle of a fight and the fight will not stop for you. When you come back you may find yourself dead. If you are a healer or a tank you could potentially be wiping your entire party for viewing the cut scene. That's why people ask you not to do it.

I asked my most recent party not to watch the cut scenes and they all raged at me. Halfway through the dungeon they stopped watching the cut scenes because they found out that I was right.

I only run dungeons with my guild now because of how terrible this community is. They don't mind if I watch cutscenes.

It drives me nuts that many of the best cutscenes are NOT viewable from The Unending Journey. What's the point of the stupid book in the inn if it doesn't let you watch all the good cutscenes with the voice acting and stuff?

This. Watching cutscenes can and does get people killed. It is respectful to skip certain ones when asked for the good of the party. If anything, blame SE for having these prolonged cutscenes when dangerous events occur immediately after. I certainly don't blame groups for requesting you skip them in some cases.

Tank here, and yes I'll be watching ALL of my cut scenes due to the impact they have on the story. The impatient ones will have to wait and if anyone tries to ruin the story I can just switch to the FC only tab I have in the chat window .

I'd LOVE to see them try to pull a boss without the tank ready.

What? People get mad if I don't skip cutscenes? Wow... I...really didn't even imagine anyone can be this rude. Mind blown. Well I hope those 2-3 minutes you just saved was worth losing the opportunity for you to gain a helpful friend for years to come.
