    Has nothin to do with a defense force bro. It's fact that people complained that the animations did not represent the over-the-top feel from Final Fantasy games, so they have clearly separated animations to have their distinctions. Did you guys really feel like they were over the top and flashy?

    This game needs to release already so people can stop creating topics out of boredom.

    Isnt that always the case? People demand huge changes, get an idea in their mind of what they want to see, when it isnt want they expected they dont want it anymore.

    So many people were convinced that anything was better than what we had, so much so they were willing to just condemn it completely and move on. Now all of a sudden they are giving us too much of a good thing, so typical.

    I think the changes are fantastic, I love the look of the game and yes its over the top but its a fantasy game and all of that is completely subjective.

    I think we need to stop nit-picking stuff, thats what this is, nit-picking and splitting hairs. Gamers in general are rather hard to please so I usually just read these posts and think, "ok, whatever" but its a bit out of control lately.

    The forums are full of more negative stuff than they were back when the game didnt work right, such ungrateful attitudes on here.

    Animations/effects should ramp up the higher level the TP move/spell is -- this is the way it has worked in all FF games, including FFXI and in 1.0.

    Endgame abilities should definitely be cool and OTT, but early spells and abilities should be tight and realistic looking, with just a touch of flash.

    Its alpha, so I'm guessing that some of these animations may be placeholders, or are there to put extra strain on systems.

    Lets wait until beta and see what the skills look like.

    I've literally never seen people asking for effects to be giant and take up the entire screen, but here are people saying they shouldn't be. And not all Final Fantasy games are this flashy. Actually, none of them are, maybe for ultimate abilities but not low level stuff. Look at low level FFT spells or something. They are composed, sweet, and to the point. FFXIV is like turning a basic attack into a purple whirlwind that takes up the entire screen. Simply triggering sprinting gives you a chakra blast.

    And the animations won't even be clearly separated at this rate. They are just different colors of giant flash that will all start to look the same.

    It's not out of boredom, it's criticism. Trying to say people are just bored is one of SE defense force's excuses.

    I like the effects, it doesn't bother me. If they let us turn them off it would be cool too, but what about the console users?

    Yeah, I mean if ultimate abilities and limit breaks and what not are giant explosions that's great I am all for it.

    But when bread and butter stuff is also crazy it starts to lose its effect, and it will also make ultimate abilities not seem as strong. It doesn't help differentiate your arsenal of abilities.
