    Too many flashy abilities?

    In the new video he's only level 15 or something.. yet I see a lot of really obvious and flashy stuff happening, maybe it's too much (lancer)? I wonder how it will look at 50 especially in PVP. Will we know what's going on, or will it be overwhelming? I like cool-looking abilities, but not everything needs huge graphics.

    edit: A concern I have almost as much as the above.. Big graphics on spells should be reserved for high levels don't you think? Why is a level 15 group doing things like that? It's better I think, to make people want to obtain those kinds of spells instead of starting out with them. Too epic for a level 15? Just the way I see it.

    This is why I'm glad SE selectively listens to the community for the most part. Over a year ago: "ALL THE ANIMATIONS LOOK THE SAME, THEY AREN'T FLASHY ENOUGH, THEY AREN'T BIG ENOUGH."

    If they listened to everyone like the OP or Rokien, we'd have no forward progression in ARR's development at all.

    Wow, butthurt SE defense force no criticism allowed

    The flashiness is way too much. Even gathering turns you into a supersaiyan. Some of the abilities take up the entire screen. Now imagine being in a party.

    they just need to make some of the FX smaller.

    At least have spells that go around your whole character be AoE. No need to have that stuff be single target or we won't see anything in PvP it'll be a sea of colors. And also I hope every class has very unique looking abilities so we know what's going on and who's doing what.

    These are changes we wanted and pleaded for, more animations in both magic and fighting. I see nothing wrong with the videos. All they do is encourage me back into the game i love so much.

    Having different animations for each type of skill/magic is important for other team members so they recognize the moves so they in return can act accordingly and choose what skill/magic they want to put on top of that. Instead of reading a chat on the side like you did in XI you see it in animations. And to me, that is a very nice way to move forward.

    more and different animations =/= take up the entire screen even on single target attacks and chakra energy charges even when gathering

    they can add more animations and be far more expressive as to what's actually happening than just "give it a giant energy blast"

    The idea is to think about how it'll look in a group. He's level 15 and doing all that I have to wonder how much more it'll be at 50.

    also, combat is faster and people will be attacking with more frequency. mathematically there is just going to be a cluster***k of overly giant effects on the screen

    I think if the old style wasn't broken they would not be fixing it..i like the way its changing and it might not mean super-ohgod-duper-mega-flashly skills will get bigger and more flashly as lvls go up but maybe add the feel of power to the attack rather then...poof damage out
