If this message does not reach Naoki Yoshida, then the chances of him adjusting his strategy for NM/instanced content is going to be slim, and the game will continue to be unfriendly to casuals who want to get a particular item.
Not all items should be casual player obtainable. There should be content geared toward the interests of every type of player, not just the casual play 30 minutes a day or less player.

I'm sorry, but he has a very fair point. The people that are willing to sit and spend hours, or in FFXI terms, DAYS, camping for a single item should have better gear than the casuals.

No, I think they deserve to get it sooner... Just like what happened last night. They worked for it hardcore-like.

It would be patently absurd to lock casuals out of any content in the game, period. That's akin to discrimination.

Does Square Enix wanna get dragged to civil court~? (That is a joke.)

Look at the message I was replying to. The poster was suggesting that hardcores should get better gear than casuals. This is a suggestion implying that casuals should not have access to the "finest" gear in XIV.

That is inappropriate, and that is the type of hardcore mentality I so very much despise, because they are only thinking for themselves, and not about the big picture. Which so happens to include casual players.

I read and understand the original post. And you replied stating that they should not get better gear, they should get it sooner. Based on your OP, it looks like they did get the gear sooner than you. You are able to obtain that same gear. They were just able to do it faster than you.

What would hardcore players do if they could acquire things 4-5-6 times faster as you? Play for a year while you play for 4-5-6? They'd have nothing else to do if not work towards something better than takes more hours in the day or more days a week.

I wouldn't show up to my job for 3 hours a day expecting to get the same payment as an 8 hour employee, because I "don't have time" to work.

So a casual player, who plays a couple times a week for 2-3 hours deserves an Adaberk before a hardcore player who end games every day? Get real.

It is not absurd. Give the casuals gear, but it certainly shouldn't be as good as the hardcore end game gear.

It's absurd. Look at FFXI. parties are DISCRIMINATING based on equipment. Does a casual have a shot at participating in the game's content because the community is going, "LUL, You don't have this particular piece of equipment. GTFO!"

Just stop talking. If you can't think more widely about what kind of implications such things have on how the community ends up behaving towards others, then your opinion isn't really that valuable.

You know why I say that? I'm a moderationist. I believe in finding a "sweet spot" that suits EVERYBODY. Not just one demographic or one ideology. That means compromising. That means understanding what other people's positions are. When other people are unwilling, unbending, and unable to see what others' positions are, they earn my ire, my disgust, and ultimately, if they persist, my hatred.

Not a whole lot different from the idiocy of Congress~

    1. Have you been playing FFXI long ?
    2. If you want same end Game gear you have 3 options
    a. Buy the gear from end game at premium price
    b. Join a HNM LS and depending on rules get on a list
    c. Kiss your family goodbye and tell your job you quit and start a HNMLS
    3. In FFXI did they rarely say you cant join cuz your gear, I have seen ppl build their characters and merit right merits and have less then stellar gear and do dmg before abyssea . Now on FFXI all causal players bitching they broke a good game . Screwed over all the People who got Relics and all the endgame gear with far Superior weapons gear , and not only made people who have worked hard on their gear go in to abyssea and force them to be hardcore causal but after spending 4-6 years completing a relic (If you weren't in a hardcore dynashell = that wasnt just focused on dyna money etc and hnmls didnt fund your relic )Do trial of the Magians which is a big slap in the face to anyone who reached the basic ends and saying here "Make your weapon stronger BUT! it will only be a few steps behind Mystics and other AFv3
