I wonder if people actually take a moment to say: I didn't get into the Alpha, perhaps that's my fault.
It's an interview pretty much. Did you select the right choices, do you have the machines they're looking for, etc. etc.

Hmm, makes me wonder about 3 things./whiteknight on
- Who got Abri started up again... I mean I've followed and enjoyed his posts pre Nov 26, but a lot after that have been, well ... no comment beyond "no comment"
- If the people championing the "SE screwed up by inviting non-actives without asking our permission" posts would still have supported "the cause" if we would have been in that round of alpha invites.
- Do you think the community reps or devs decided to yank people's alpha/beta apps based on forum behavior post Nov 26?
I mean, really? Sure it could have been handled better, but the company really shouldn't NEED to ask our OK when they decided to make a change that they feel is best for the progress of the game development.
They did what they thought was best, I think that recently they have at least earned the benefit of the doubt.Greetings everyone,
I know the alpha tester selection process is a hot topic, and while I cannot disclose the selection process, I do want to pass on some additional details to help you better understand the situation. To ensure a broad scope of testing for the Alpha Test, we did accept users with specific types of machines, setups, connection types, ISPs, geographical locations and other configurations that we need to test that may, or may not, meet every requirement on the application. Alpha is an important first step for testing and we need to make sure we have a wide breadth of users testing it.
We appreciate your understanding, and we look forward to further expanding our selection in the future. In fact, there are a few Yoshida posts that we're working on today that go into further detail on this.

Abriael is a war machine - if you like what he says you love and lap it up. And if you dont.. you really hate it.Hmm, makes me wonder about 3 things./whiteknight on

Thats my take on that lol.
And thanks for that quote, I mean I've seen it before but I missed the part where it actually says they disregarded their own requirements in the application.. lol So.. yeah they know what they did, they wanted to do it XD.
Now back to whats important...
Where is my invite...? lol![]()

I knew we'd be hearing from Abby again. lol I mean, a new wave of alpha! Come on! The only way we wouldn't hear from him again is if he actually got an alpha invite. So, I was predicting his QQing like I forecasted the sunrise. lol
Of course not. Much like others bashing SE's handling of alpha, he is of the opinion that "If I didn't get an invite, SE is doin it wrong".
Probably so. And if they did, there's no WAY I'm getting an invite! I shut down an entire thread making fun of people QQing over not having an invite. SE probably has me written on the naughty list in permanent ink. XD
Nah, according to Abby, the people who have been handling this sort of thing for years and years are the ones who don't know what they're doing. It's the fans who are butthurt over no alpha invites that are the experts.I mean, really? Sure it could have been handled better, but the company really shouldn't NEED to ask our OK when they decided to make a change that they feel is best for the progress of the game development.

I know, I didn't get an alpha invite either, and I'm not butthurt over it. But that's because I'm doing it wrong. lol

First the job interview at SE then now this... /sigh... j/k j/k lol
This one is not as bad as the job interview's feeling I had. That one got me all sad for almost every day for 2 month straight, thinking "What if I said...." or "I should of said this...." orz still comes back time to time but not as bad now... lol

Even if SE found the capacity to invite the entire world into Alpha ... people would still find a reason to QQ
Fact is, they don't even need to. These extra rounds of testing are more just a courtesy than anything. From what I hear they have all the feedback they need from the first phase with the JP players.
C'mon people, we'll all get into Beta.
