Fact is, they don't even need to. These extra rounds of testing are more just a courtesy than anything. From what I hear they have all the feedback they need from the first phase with the JP players.

We'll most probably have an open beta at some point, and anybody can join open betas, that's why they're open

Well, not when beta launch, but after a few month of beta i think that everyone will get into beta, since we can play with our current character and will carry over on launch is a little unfair if some people can't get it in.

I find it shameful this selection method two years I've played this game and I have not stopped playing, I point to the alpha long ago and do not understand why I have sent imail, now I'm playing Final Fantasy 11, I paying, and with all that I have not sent anything honestly seems very wrong and I am very upset, I'm sorry for my English Spanish

Who said anything is being carried over from beta to launch? The only thing I've heard that's being carried over is the way your character looks. They said they'll let you create your character and carry it over but you'll start at level 1.

Yeah... open beta. But there will be closed beta(s) with much exclusion like these alpha phases. Some will get in, some will not. And the topic of perhaps alpha testers having some priority to get in - why, I ask? Why? Why would those who already have had a chance, be given a HIGHER chance than those who have not had a chance at all?

I just hope the closed beta(s) will be short. Not whining. Stressful day, having nothing to do with this lol
