    I seem to recall they removed the animation and code for the inertia involved in the stopping motion etc. for 2.0 so that we could move quicker to react to certain attacks and battle styles. It's a good trade off if you ask me.

    The only lacking animation that bothers me right now is when panning the camera while standing still and the character has no movement even though they are rotating on a single spot. I hope they add some foot movement at least...perhaps make the character's head turn in the direction you are panning the camera...Though this does not have to do with this thread so I will hush lol.

    I would much rather my character stop when I let go of the button than fall an extra step or 2 forward when it could mean life or death.

    What mashing C did was force a sync with the server. It has nothing to do with "character stopping faster" as this is only perceived to be slower with inertia animation present. That means that with the new servers, once you release a movement key, the server will recognize your character is not moving even though the inertia animation hasn't stopped playing yet

    At least this is the logical thing to do. Whether "motion blending" animations include inertia or not is yet to be seen though. I'm just glad they confirmed not all animations are being included.

    Btw, I think the original post by Rukkiri only meant the motion captured animations were removed in favor of artificial ones. This would mean inertia and leaning can still be included, but skill animations can become less realistic (e.g. jumping above the realistic limit).

    IDK about costs etc, but personally, I would motion capture all movement animations and use synthetic ones for skills.

    I think a solid engine and UI will be top priority and from what I've read there doing alpha testing exactly how it should of been done in the first place they can add animation at any time during the life of this game.

    No one has mentioned pvp in this thread.

    I'm not sure how that animation would work for pvp where you will be constantly running and stopping. If there is an animation lock on using abilities while your "stopping" from running that would be really annoying in pvp.
