I don't think MOST of the community thinks marriage in game should not be called marriage. Did you take a survey? Did you ask the whole community? Or are you just taking your own opinion and projecting it on others? Calling marriage something besides marriage is pointless.

But in here there's a discussion about SSM and also renaming marriage to something else, the reason being that the word 'marriage' is uncomfortable for some to pair with same sex couples whether it is for moral or religious reasons etc. The idea of renaming it for this reason so that ingame marriage/partnerships can be all-inclusive and not exclude same sex couples and shake the stigma that has come to be associated with the word marriage has received a lot of positive feedback.
