I mean come on -.- we have enough information if they give us anymore they wont be anything else to tell us in the next few month then we be really bored wishing we did not get that information.
You are comparing XIV to XI, both SE games and both examples of terrible communication. Both games terrible examples of marketing. And than you throw in this forum to the mix in which 80% of devs reply has been: we're working on it, we're looking into it, we cant discuss this at the moment, etc. They promised us weekly updates back in August and that failed. Servers went down with "we're working on it" yet again as a reply to comfort the customers.

SE doesn't know how to keep a momentum. The end of an era trailer was amazing but I bet you in couple of weeks most people will cool off and yet again we will go back to a dry spell. Look at all the previous instances. The game show videos, etc. It's always one step forward two steps back with SE.

Now don't get me wrong. XIV is the only MMO I've been playing since XI and only one I plan on playing. However, Tera, GW2, Rift, SWTORetc all had very transparent campaigns. GW2 turned out to be a disappointment from what I hear and the other two leaked subscribers very quickly. Does not change the fact that all of them sold a very large amount of copies and they are widely recognized titles. Ultimately, that's what XIV needs to do. It needs to sell millions of copies and they need to sell them to new customer because guess what. We already own a copy.

Facts are that XIV is still viewed as a failure. It still remains in the shadows. We know alpha will start on the 26th but that's it. The new timeline should been released with the new trailer. They have plenty of concept art, lore bits, screenshots, and other stuff they could be releasing weekly to keep people buzzing about the game. The latest producer letter was very disappointing as it rehashed most of the stuff we already knew.

It's a tough market out there and if SE wants to sell the game that charges monthly fee they need to amaze the average player. So far they been doing poor job with it.
