    *Revelation*

Unless the Arcanist learns abilities which make Carby do certain things, like "Attack", "Debuff", "Heal", "Defend" etc. In which case, those abilities would still be accessible to SMN to let the Primals do their own move which is related to that command. E.g., using "Defend" with Ifrit would be a Sentinel effect, whereas "Defend" with Garuda could be Featherfoot.

I guess in kiiind or the same way that the Magus Sisters in X perform actions, but with less 'randomness'.

You dont need an other taskbar skill bar in order to do that.

As i said.. in AION you had different commands (which had different effects depending on which pet is summoned). so that you didnt had 10-20 different skills on your bar.. just about 7 for all pets.

    for example somethin like that:
    - 1: primary attack skill (waterpet : ranged dd spell, windpet: stun damage attack, fire pet: direct damage + damage over time, earth pet: direct damage + chance to paralyze)
    - 2 skill: defensive skill (waterpet: heal, windpet: attackspeed petbuff, earthpet: defender petbuff, firepet: increase melee damage for pet)
    - 3 skill (waterpet pbae damage, windpet DoT, Earth bio, firepet: melee fire dd)

    etc..

etc. pp.. you have just 5 commands on your taskbar which work different regarding the pet you have out. thats the way how it works in AION. the commands had casttimes of about 1-2 seconds.. and was more or less instant when the pet does it.

here real low level spiritmaster gameplay in AION (with very less skills, but here you can see it quiet good).
    Aion Spiritmaster

Highlevel Summoner PVP AION (you can see the pet commands when the target is marked with a pink symbol)

half of the direct damage was done via the pet commands. i hope at least the arcanist is going to work like it,.

That's pretty much exactly what I was saying about the "Attack"/"Defend"/"Heal" commands.
Each pet would react differently to each 'ability' you selected.

Exactly and most likely Arcanist would learn these as it is the base class to the job of Summoner. You'd have a handful of vague commands that would work differently for each summon. On top of that you'd have your own skills/spells.

I certainly hope they don't go the path of each summon just being a single spell/ws. They'd be severely limiting themselves and you wouldn't get a system like the one described above.

I really do hope they go more of the Aion route for this one, that was a fairly fun pet system.
