This boggles me ppl keep saying mmo's playing it safe are failures but those mmo's still have more subs than xi, but you guys call that successful. I'm at a lost for words.
2. Square took every opportunity to take the polls wherever they wanted. Example: "Do you want to have some battles instanced to avoid stealing bosses?" Me: "Yes SquareEnix, maker of Final Fantasy Fourteen. I would like that." Square: "Well it looks like you guys want most of the game to be instanced" Me: "SquareEnix. This is not what I said yes to" Square: "Moving on, we have this thing over here"How is this misleading?10. If the current target claiming system were done away with, would you prefer for content such as dungeons and battle to be converted into instances as much as possible?
* "Instances" refer to those events and areas that can only be occupied by a single party, or certain characters, at once. This serves to prevent players from competing with one another for the same enemies, for example.
quest...markers... have been around for ever.
Player
I played all those games and they are all Everquest clones, with gimmicks, none of those played risky except maybe, for the old republic, as they rsiked turning 8 single player games in one MMO, and you all know how it turned out.
What success did Warhammer online had? Or Aion and Rift all of them closing merging servers and going f2p because they can't keep players? Minor changes to the combat systems or just adding an extra talent tree or more slide bars in the character creations do not alter that they are all based of the same mold, and that is the path Everquest set, that wow perfected and everyone copied.
That's why I liked FFXI and what I liked about Tanaka's vision, that they are out of the same route, they want to give the players a different experience, not just the same old one with a new gimmick and a equally colorful world than the game before.
First they could, as it's the hardware and software they stated they could have replaced. This didn't require a relaunch of XIV.
I bet you only played the DS version. Also FF 11 was nothing like 3 i beat that game so many times 11 never felt like that, only FF 3 and 11 have in common is the job system.
You clearly don't play XIV because all people do is stand around even when someone is shouting for help with stuff, also most people get powerleveled, you know, depending on someone? Also the ppl trying to say you stand around all day doing nothing when looking for a pt is stupid cause unlike XI you don't need to depend on ppl to get xp
Same dev team. Also since you're telling other people they're wrong, let me tell you that you're wrong, they raised the DC+ monster exp for the purpose of speeding up the leveling process outside of abyssea since soloing a monster has NOTHING to do with it's exp base lol, being unable to solo a DC mob has to deal with balance, not the exp. How the fuck did you even come to that conclusion?took the xi dev team like 8 years to raise the exp for EP/DC mobs cause then FINALLY REALIZED AFTER 8 FUCKING YEARS MOST CLASSES CANT SOLO AN DC MOB.
Rift is not doing any of the stuff you mentioned, instead it's getting constant big updates. Additionally, it's releasing a huge-ass expansion next month. Is that what a failing game looks like?
