The people on these forums make my head hurt. First, don't talk about how speed runs aren't challenging when you haven't done them. "I'd consider the dungeons challenging if they're actually hard to get through" you haven't even completed av or cc let alone done speed runs on them yet you will sit on here and bitch about them like you know what you are talking about. "My Job of Monk is automatically left out of the Speed Runs, it's simply not fast enough." so speed runs are bad cause you are forced into playing specific jobs(not really true) yet at the same time you only play one job lol?? You should spend less time making qq post about stuff you don't know about and more time actually playing the game.Huh, challenge? Yeah, I may understand that doing a “Time Trial” could pose a challenge for certain adventurers. Sure, do it once, twice, 10 times... but, c'mon, after doing it hundred times, same Jobs and same strategy, don't tell me it's still enjoyable.
This is what the Speed Runs are.
And about the “not being good enough to do them”... Well, personally speaking I would have surely tried... if I could. My Job of Monk is automatically left out of the Speed Runs, it's simply not fast enough.
But I'm sure that even if I could participate in this “content”, being an adventurer who likes to do things with no hurry, and considering it required to be spammed, I wouldn't have liked it one bit.
[By the way, this trend of spamming contents should just go as well. Hamlet Defense is another example of wasted content with a good potential... but OK, that's another matter.]
I'd consider the dungeons challenging if they're actually hard to get through, places where you can go in as your favourite Job. Strong monsters, different routes... I could stay here and list all the improvements they could introduce, but with Yoshida's promises I've faith that this time they won't disappoint.

Although I don't really enjoy speed runs, it's also true that longer and more difficult dungeons will result in a much longer time to get a certain drop or reward.

Yessss, my baldy Highlander friend! I'm an Explorer and Craftsman, only have one Level 50 Job as a Disciple of War and I'm proud of it. I like my Monk and have fun with it.
Monk is left out of the Speed Runs concept and I'm /happy of that.
This, however, doesn't mean that I never got into an Aurum Vale or Cutter's Cry party: actually, I've been in several and reached both the final Bosses, and my judgement on the Speed Runs is based on those very experiences, of which I talked both in my blog and in the Topic in my signature.
No need to further repeat myself, the point should be clear in the first post and it's a moment of Joy.
I'll wait for the first informations on the new instanced raids. Do your best, Yoshi-P and team!![]()

I have to say that the reliance on the speed run mechanic for obtaining gear is one of the worst things plaguing this game atm. Sure, keep it for the sake of an achievement, but it shouldn't be more than that, an achievement.

A speedrun don't increase the dungeon difficulty. It increase the timer difficulty.

I like speed runs...

I agree 100% with you Cloudio! I am happy to see we won't be rushing in the future and will have time to explore effectively!
Hurray for summoner! My favorite job!
You haven't cleared the dungeons let alone did the speed runs. What would you really know about them if haven't done them. Nothing thats what. Most of the people posting in this thread haven't done 17 av/cc let alone 25 min 5 chest runs.

Just because a player doesn't have the win and the accompanying lodestone achievement doesn't mean they haven't tried to get it. This argument is pretty baseless. I've been through CC hundreds, of times by now, and have not got the speed run win, yet I am very familiar with the mechanic. I can say without a doubt that the forced speed run mechanic causes more stress than is necessary, which is exactly why it shouldn't be forced upon us.
