I think I missed this one a while back...
And a follow-on comment...Guten Morgen,
Good morning,
We will be making adjustments to make communication easier. For example we are planning a feature that will allow you to display monster names in the various languages.
Hallo Yukiko,
Hi Yukiko,
We will only be implementing the feature for Monster names. Although there is still good news. We're working on making it possible to change the language of your client without having to log out.
Being able to change the language without logging out sounds nice, never do it now but would be nice to be able to switch from JP and English time to time to explain some stuff when looking up info in-game.
So I missed the boat on getting that comment about the race-specific gear being obtainable in some form, but this one is still VERY topical...
*insert standard complaint about the notoriously low drop rates on Ifrit gear here - 180 kills and only Dark Matter, so please adjust the drop rate*
/prepares for mass requestsGuten Morgen,
Good morning,
I've spoken to the developers about Yukiko's suggestion and they have offered their sincere thanks. At the moment, this possibility is not on the agenda, but it is still plausible that we could engage with the drop rate once more before 2.0.
Sooo are weapons going away then? Why can't we get a concrete answer on that? Either the primal weapons are forever, or they're pre-2.0 legacy kid bonuses.
I'd really like to know so I can decide to focus on relic or Garuda.

No already earned weapon is going away.
There has still been no official confirmation about the Prime battles, at least to my knowledge. If you are going to make claims please link a source![]()
The only information we have so far is that there will be roaming primal fights introduced.
Absolutely no further commentary so far in any language to the best of my knowledge.
The speculation is that roaming primals will replace the L50 instanced fights.
On the other hand, a version 2.0 screenshot still shows the howling eye as an area in existence. Presumably instanced to fight Garuda.
A Relic Reborn also requires engaging Ifrit and Garuda in instanced fights, so they are presumed to be in the game in some instanced capacity.
I'm going on the assumption that removing the instanced fights would lead one to wonder why they bothered putting all the work into developing them like this in the first place, since almost all content has been developed with version 2.0 in mind. FFXIV has also been earmarked as a "fan-service" game, so removing the instances where you can fight a primal whenever you want would be a little silly (since roaming primals may only be on the map to fight once a week).
Heck, we don't even know if Garuda or Ifrit will BE roaming primals. We know Odin is one, but the rest is up in the air. They could have decided to have 6 instanced and 6 roaming - two for each element or one for each deity.
Of course, now I'm getting into lore territory...
Short version: Welcome to speculation city.

tl;dr - PC beta expected in NovemberGuten Morgen !
Good morning!
Even though a number of specifics with regards to the beta-test are not yet decided, I want to give you some info up-front so that you can calm down a little.
Firstly: There will be a PC-beta and we apologise if the road-map had caused any confusion. (Some people were asking if the beta was only for PS3.)
Currently, we are planning to begin the beta test for FINAL FASTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn in November.
Naturally, we will do our best to keep to this timetable in the roadmap, but as we have said in the past, the quality of the game is our highest priority. To ensure this level of quality, it may be that we have to deviate from the timetable occasionally. However currently, there is not need for concern, because everything up to this point has been going to plan.
I hope I was able to answer your questions and once again apologise if our roadmap had caused confusion. If you have further questions, I will do my best to answer them.
