You know what grinds my gears?

People that join linkshells and expect drops before the people that have done 300+ runs gearin that shell.
People the refuse to play an assigned job even though the other players are far more experienced and better equipped for the job in contest.
People that complaining about elitists and then post a page long thread, a self serving thread stinking of "I'm above it".

Look, I liked your post, cus it does shine a flashlight on what could be considered indecent behavior. However, I ask you to flip the coin and consider the player that's been spamming the same content hours on end, can do it blind folded, and newby mcnewbington comes along, wants their same role, drop, and party consideration. Exercise some fing empathy and understand that if you don't show them your in it for real, they aren't going to want to spend their time gearing you out. You don't instantly become friends with everyone you work with or meet in casual social situations. You have to earn people's respect/friendship. Incoming south park reference: making friends is a lot like chat roulette. To find some quality friends you have to wade through a lot of dicks.

In all honesty I see the opinion of both sides because I have been playing MMOs for nearly 15 years and I understand the aspects of both sides of the arguments. Though as of lately I have been leaning to the side that I gave the spiel about. We all play the game for enjoyment and we all have different views of how things should be handled , hence part of the reason there are so many different LS's/Guilds in games. Each have their own unique rules and how things work, if you like one way over another then play with whatever group that has the same interests as you. Though I like would personally like to see more equality amongst members of a group that play together. I have seen in many situations where seniority goes way too far and royally screw someone else out of something they deserved.

All the things you have said have counter issues with them as well.
People that join linkshells and expect drops before the people that have done 300+ runs gearin that shell.
Why should their be a seniority on loot? Because you ran something 300 times means you should get it before guy who has only had the opportunity to run it 4-5 times? I mean I would be mad that I didn't get it in 300 runs but if you are there participating in the battle and it drops you should have just as much right as anyone else to roll on said piece of gear. If you want seniority rule then use a point system. (though this is why I like how primal fights are, your lamp your loot rule)

People the refuse to play an assigned job even though the other players are far more experienced and better equipped for the job in contest.
People understand the reason behind this but someone shouldn't be forced to be a healer because they have it leveled every time. Then people expect you to get gear for the healer class and what if they want to play their DD? Their DD is considered their main but you assign them something different? How is that fair? People don't always want to play the same class every time especially if they leveled multiple classes. Because said person has better gear than you means they get to play that class over you!? Sorry that is an elitist mentality, now if a fight requires a certain gear level and the person doesn't have it on their DD job that is understandable and needs to be explained.

People that complaining about elitists and then post a page long thread, a self serving thread stinking of "I'm above it".
By them saying "I'm above it" they are clarifying they think elitist mentality is childlike
and unnecessary, in which that is the truth of the matter. The whole I'm better than you concept because of game status is nothing more than a teenage pissing contest. I agree with the "I'm above it" comment, they aren't saying they are better than anyone but instead that they are more mature than that. Also stating that the childlike behavior expressed by the elitist mentality in all totality is a hindrance and grow up quit acting like you are still in High School. (unless you are in high school then you are excused)

Because Linkshells want to keep their core of experienced players. Other shells will reward them for hard work. SE has put enough RNG into the game. Linkshells don't have to add to it.

This is a dumb statement that makes me wonder if you even play. First of all if you don't have a job leveled you can't play it in endgame content. Another issue is gear: Gear doesn't matter for WHM nearly as much as giving a care about your job. That's the same for every class. People don't always want to play WHM, but all content requires WHM so people should expect to play it at some point in their lives. Saying no to white mage forever is just silly. That's the same for every class.

Expecting the community to revolve around you and your desires is far more childlike than any elitist attitude.

Are you daft? You couldn't comprehend my easy to digest statement so you call it a dumb statement? Since you didn't get it I will reiterate it for you.

I was saying since I have WHM and lets say BRD leveled. I shouldn't be forced to play WHM every time because "Joe Blow" has better BRD gear than me. Or because he is more experience at the fight, you have to learn by doing the fight. Then when I am forced to be the WHM they expect you to roll on WHM gear instead of BRD gear even though you made it known that BRD is your main. Maybe I hate WHM and don't want to be forced to play it all the time. What about all the other guys in your party that have WHM leveled yet you never see them get asked to play as WHM or never see them on another class than the one they want to play.

people should expect to play it at some point in their lives. Saying no to white mage forever is just silly.
This comment is silly. Because I have every class at 50 doesn't mean I should be expected to play every one of them. If I have only the desire to play BLM and BRD and not play WHM, why should I have to play WHM? Saying no to playing WHM at any time is a choice that should only be made by the player, it is an option not an obligation. It is just silly to say otherwise.

Just so you know I am a team player and I play all classes/jobs when somebody asks it of me. But I do not expect anyone to not play something they do not want to play, that is telling them to go against their free will and that is complete bullshit.

Your post is far to long for someone of my maturity level. So I am just on a reply with a blanket "I disagree with everything you may have said above, or will say in subsequent posts".

I tell you what, get your speed runs done, do em 300 more times. Then I'll read your post just like it is an actual informed opinion instead of hot air and from a tree hugging hippy that thinks that everyone deserves a trophy just for showing up.
