they actually did punish them in obtaining relics. . but still no one who had beatin garuda post fix will bother fighting her now unless he needs the relicWhy trying to beat her if you already got all your weapons from manaburn?
It was a mistake on SE's part to legalize that bug, as it effectively killed the content.
What they should have done is not punish those who used that way before the bug was confirmed (which weren't that many), but once it was, they should have stated abusing it is against the ToS and acted accordingly. Then the majority of the population would still be making Garuda runs.
And that's exactly what the fight is: a learning process. You learn it phase by phase, first getting through AB, then learning what to do in phase 2, then learning how to deal with the clones. You master one step at the time until you'll eventually win the fight (and keep winning).
There have been people writing in this thread saying they've won the fight or are getting there. There are strategies posted on these very forums and videos posted on youtube. People are doing the fight and winning it.
Now if you would tell what kind of problems are you having in this fight, what kind of setup are you using, maybe even your party member's stats and / or parse results in said fight, people could maybe give you some advice.

It can be done with pickups. It's not a gear check fight and it's not even that tough of a fight. It's sad the community took the cheap way out with this fight instead of learning how to actually beat it. I'm not sure why people ask for tough fights then turn around and cry when they get one lol.
Well that's a bit subjective in this instance, like I said you pretty much have to get her to Ariel Blast within 5 minutes in order to have enough of the pillars to survive it. Even if they reduced the number of Plumes or their HP, Garuda herself would take the pillars out relatively quickly so you have to work fast.Difference of opinion here, but I think primals should be hard. I mean dungeons should allow for less hardcore ppl to win, but a primal is an optional standalone boss that, given its lore, should not be "for everyone". I think Garuda is great because it does primals justice, and it provides a great optional challenge.
IMO Ifrit was at a good point of challenge before they re-evaluated the stats in 1.19 or 1.20, he gave players plenty of challenge but wasn't impossible, and definitely didn't require players to beat him down to hellfire within a few minutes.

No it can't. What's to learn? Watch the you tube videos. You need to know how to play. Period. Plus you need to have decent gear. That's all there is. Your talk of step by step is just a way to lie to yourself. Oh we died 9999x for AF, ohh we manage to pass it now(by luck) ohh we died again 9999 for AF, /party disband. Skill, that's all there is. I don't think the fight is that hard only thing that sucks is fkin Shrek move that goes off in 1 sec. That move is far to fast with the delay this game has, you have more time to dodge ifrit cracks.
Garuda needs a static, and once you understand her moves I can see how it would be fun. I like that SE is making people actually pay attention and have everyone do their part in the party, however, I don't like that it's also quite gear dependent. I'm all for a fight that challange is based on skill, but when it requires me to have double melded crap, it makes me grit my teeth.
Very well, our biggest problem are the plumes, we have the DDs on plume duty, same as anyone else, and we do very well at getting them down quick. However, people get hit by AoEs even when they are clearly behind the pillars, We also are getting overwhelmed by the final plume barrage at 50%. We're lucky if anyone other than the tank survives AB.And that's exactly what the fight is: a learning process. As I said before, our gear is reasonaly fine for the fight, and eveyone knows what they are supposed to do. So what pray tell is the fatal flaw?
If you think there isn't people with skill joining pick ups, you are lieing to yourself. No it can't. What's to learn? Watch the you tube videos. You need to know how to play. Period.
