    I don't really want to step on the toes of power levelers. Much of the Open world, sand box content they use to power level is the reason I find FF14 attractive. Setting aside the live and let live principal, in order to nerf them, they need to nerf content and that's just not an option right now. We really don't have anough Open world content to nerf any of it.

    People that want to take away leveling also want the first 40 levels of crafting to be useless, yet they already are for the most part. Then again, I guess none of them have ever participated in any good mid-game content or enjoyed a full character progression.

    What the game should have is more midgame content, I don't blame SE for adding so much endgame content right now because most players who are subscribed are at Level 40-50 on several classes, and so endgame content is most important to them.

    As well as alternative ways of leveling other than grinding - I don't care if grinding might level faster, despite being monotonous. If there was an alternative way to level, say through competing in PVP or a type of Conquest-esque system (even if these two were, in comparison to the grinding, a slower way to level) I'd PVP and Conquest more than grind.

    * The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.

    Yoshi said he was going to address leveling speed in 2.0 but only for 41-50 speed. Everything else is intentional and won't change.

    Without power leveling, 1-40 is actually at a good pace in leveling. 41-50 is just a joke though. I personally agree with that.

    As long as they just do it for DOM/W cause DOL/H I find is perfect for those lvs XD it's just annoying enough that you can't really grind it but just right that it makes sense since those should be a tad annoying to level for the economical advantages they offer. But I do definitely agree with DOW/M even solo from 40+ it takes maybe 4-8 leves to level since the xp boost at the end of each one is insanely high on top of the xp boost and chains you can obtain from said leve. At the same time you also have access to more abilities and skills so the rate in which you can kill mobs increases which means you can obtain a higher chain during a leve and get more overall xp.

    Exactly. Sadly, developers want money. And people want to have a shortcut. Thus powerleveling stays.
