RahJah, interestingly enough, you DO know that DoL has the ACTUAL exploration abilities right? All the Stealth abilities are on DoL and that makes me think that you're definitely MEANT to go places as a DoL.
That perhaps finding new lands is duty of a Disciple of Land. You really ought to give THAT some more thought.

That aside... Tell me about 'not having dangerous exploration' AFTER you get The Wanderer's Shadow title. Seriously, get every single friggen Aetheryte out there. Hell, go take a trip to the HALL MONITOR TREES and tell me how it goes.

The Black Shroud can't be nuked fast enough.

Sure go places with stealth... DoL are great and you should be able to lvl that job and explore outwards over time, but explore the entire map at lvl 1? Just running around collecting aether ports is pretty, but lame.

Again spatial/temporal progression as in you start at some point and progressively explore outwards over extended periods of time. Currently, you can run to the ends of the earth. Each new zone doesn't feel like you have achieved anything, it feels like you took 10-20 minutes to run across the map...

Wait, what? You're talking about exploration and the one achievement about exploration, that requires you to go to all of the goddamn zones of the game at the bare minimum master all the map notation and learn of at least a handful unmarked caves is 'pretty but late'?

You really can't run to the ends of the earth and feel like it took 10-20 minutes to run across the map. Go to Mor Dhona, worse, go to Mor Dhona from the Black Shroud. Juuuuust do a favor and hop off your chocobo before you cross the zone because otherwise the bird music overrides the zone music.

Okay, yes the caves can get you keeled.. and I've been to Mor Dhona to see the Hogs by the castle like structure adventuring with a couple of buddies (that was the most fun I have ever had in the game so far). But on the way to the hogs we didn't have to fight one mob. The only reason why we took on the Hog when we got there was to see if we could keel it.

Don't take it personally, but I still feel like getting around is way too easy and that we should should not be able to OUTRUN THE MOBS THAT ARE AGGRESSIVE! Honestly, why not just change that part? I would be happy and you could one shot all the pesky lvl 30 mobs that chase you around.

You could go almost anywhere as a level 1 player in FFXI as well.

I find the leashing mechanics are anoying and there should be better ways to drop agro.

Sight: Drop out of the monsters visual range for X amount of seconds
Hearing: Once you are X distance away stop moving and pray the monster doesn't amble into you.
Scent: Like XI walk through a stream/brook/water source once you are X distance away

I love exploring places that I should have no logical reason to be, but I accept the swift death that may come my way. I'd rather monsters have better aggro AI and challenge people to sneak past them, we have some of this in the game (Go get all the nodes and find out) but it's a cry from making the maps feel dangerous.

The roads should be fairly safe and once you are off the beaten path it's game on, bring back the high level monster that roams through the newbie zone once in a while teaching players that there are beings not to be triffled with. Make the Aether nodes hard to aquire taking patience and skill to sneak past that Couerle that wants your eyeballs for a light snack.

The zones should be dangerous but not impassible if your not the correct level. Might as well put a giant fence around the zone and say "LEVEL 20+ ONRY!"

Yeah, it seems that there is hardly any danger in exploration until you are at end game levels. There should be a gradient from level 10+. It is good to know however that at least at end-game levels you cannot run across the map freely with defending yourself. You guys keep pointing out places where the mobs are super high levels.

What about the areas that are partied by lvl 10 to 20's but everyone can run right through them? That is what I think this game is lacking.
