    Outrunning Aggressive Mobs

Being able to outrun the aggressive mobs destroys the geographic progression of FFXIV. Does SE plan to change this for 2.0?

In FFXI we had to stand and fight or zone aggressive mobs. It created boundaries to how far a person could explore as they progress in the game. In FFXIV you can explore the whole map at the beginning of the game. It takes the adventure out of exploration because there is no real danger; you can't have an adventure without danger. I prefer the FFXI mechanics personally.

Er. You can still get your ass one-shotted if a mob has a ranged attack. Some still do.

True, but I still feel like I can explore way too far into the map without having leveled. I ran from one nation to another before rank 10 when I started this game. To make matters worse, there was hardly any lore attached to any of the pretty but hollow feeling maps. Something is missing I thought and I think that being able to outrun the aggressive mobs is part of what is missing.

The roads are ideal for traveling because obviously mobs stay off them. Trust me when I say you have not seen the tough areas yet. There's a bunch of tough mobs in The Black shroud when heading north-west.

Also all the new goodies for our lands will come when Dalamud comes crashing down.

Yeah, I had to solo some grand companies quests that caused me to venture into a part of The Black Shroud that one shot me when I went the wrong way on the map. It felt good to finally get aggro that keeled me... odd I thought I would never say that. Anyways, it still took quite some time into gameplay before I stepped onto dangerous territory. I hope that in 2.0 we are not able to outrun the mobs.

there are no hard areas between nations, take a trip out to fogfens on your level 10, we do it every other week for our drunk fishing game, one of the rules is if you die finish your drink.

Lv.90 agressive mobs exist. They don't take kindly to us even on mounts. We are like desert while our chocobos are chicken dinner.

right now theres no point of going in those stupid areas... hence theres no point of even exploring it >.>- the adventure should be from city to city- where it should be though getting there.

But why would a mob chase you across the region? It was one of the things that bugged me about FFXI, even the beastmen guarding the strongholds would do this, how does this make sense?
