That perhaps finding new lands is duty of a Disciple of Land. You really ought to give THAT some more thought.

That aside... Tell me about 'not having dangerous exploration' AFTER you get The Wanderer's Shadow title. Seriously, get every single friggen Aetheryte out there. Hell, go take a trip to the HALL MONITOR TREES and tell me how it goes.

The Black Shroud can't be nuked fast enough.
Yeah, it seems that there is hardly any danger in exploration until you are at end game levels. There should be a gradient from level 10+. It is good to know however that at least at end-game levels you cannot run across the map freely with defending yourself. You guys keep pointing out places where the mobs are super high levels.

What about the areas that are partied by lvl 10 to 20's but everyone can run right through them? That is what I think this game is lacking.

In FFXI we had to stand and fight or zone aggressive mobs. It created boundaries to how far a person could explore as they progress in the game. In FFXIV you can explore the whole map at the beginning of the game. It takes the adventure out of exploration because there is no real danger; you can't have an adventure without danger. I prefer the FFXI mechanics personally.
You want to bring back one of the most criticized aspect of XI? LOL

I am sure Yoshi-P and the Dev team agree with you. They are obviously for all of Tanaka's messed up ideas. (Sarcasms)

And perhaps that is where the problem lies. Areas that are partied by level 10~20 players have dangers that are relative to level 10~20. Which means monsters around that level range. Which means it's only going to be a bother to players at about that level range and a level 50 player will run by like it was nothing, on virtue he's a level 50 player.

I'm curious. How the hell would a L15 area pose a death threat to a level 50 player without making it completely unplayable for a L15 player?

And why in heaven's name do you think a cavefull of aggro monsters five levels above you won't get in your way regardless of your level? Speciallyat lower levels where you have no survival tools avaiable?

Mobs aren't supposed to be aggressive to players with a certain amount of lvls above the mob in my mind.

Yeah, I agree the caves are challenging to get around in. I like that. I think what you say is true. Lvl 10-20 areas should have dangers relevant to lvl 10-20 players, but I also believe that Lvl 0-10 players in a lvl 10-20 players zone should be killed by aggro to keep them from progressing across the map so quickly.

The Devs have made the mobs slower on purpose. They have made it to where the range that mobs are signaled to return to their territory too fast on purpose. It does effect what areas lower level characters like myself can explore.

The mobs should be slightly faster than us in 2.0; furthermore, the range that the mobs are signaled to return to their territory should be increase to fill the entire zone in 2.0.

One thing that you also don't take into mind here is that 'zone' in this game (at least right now) means 'the entirety of Eorzea save instances'.
I'd actually love to see you, RahJah, chased all the way from Mor Dhona to Ul'Dah by a L80 hog.

I will also add that having stuff chase you forever and ever until you zone is still lame in my opinion regardless. Not only istwildly displaces mobs, completely undoing the concept of 'mob placement', it also allows training, MPKing and other similar goodies. That and it makes no sense for a wild beast to chase you across the whole wide world just because you stepped on it's territorry, it'll chase you away but that's it.

And it is also sincerely bothersome and doesn't even add anything to the dangers of exploration. Specially if they're full of range and faster than you, all it means is that you're essentially blocked from exploring anywhere where monsters you can't slay by the buckets are.

i think what the op is saying is that the mobs dont have the enough will to kill you, i remember back in XI in the outpost near sandoria, there was an elevator so if u aggroed a mob in the level below it made all his way to your spot to kill you so it was fun seeing how that mob was linking with others to kick your ass, at the end if you didnt notice that, you could see all the outpost heading towards you, lol
