Here now answer me this, what is the difference in defense or attack between a piece or gear or weaponry that is either 99% or 100%. I haven't seen any difference and if there is I don't imagine it to be to much of a difference to make a difference in performance.

There is no difference until its 0%, then you get 0 stats.

I find the whole system a bit useless tbh! It is just a complete negative thing to me, i dont bother really finding repairs because the whole request repair is stupid, if i have couple items 0% but some at 98% the request puts them all up, so i loose out for 2%... Dumb, so I just go to NPC, the expensive is nothing to the amount to the amount I gain, its like 1% of a gil sink to me.

I wouldnt miss it if it was gone.

I feel like the character player repair is also stupid. Why? Because I want to be able to repair to 100% at an NPC anytime I want, with a push of a single button. Sorry if I'm spoiled from WoW. What if I'm in the middle of a raid, and I have to run and rush back to my party and my equipment are at 0%? Do I have to shout, or call a friend, or call LS? Nobody would wait for me.

Also another experience: I woke up before work time, only had 10 minutes to sell my items, only to realize they need repaired. And I didn't have time to ask around for repair so I couldn't put up my items before I had to leave.

In WoW, I could bam one click repair all, and boom 8 items up at Auction House, before you can even say breakfast.

eh? Isn't a majority of the worthwhile gear that's worth selling Bind on Equip so regardless of how much you repair it you'll never be able to sell it. Also why should a person who purchased said piece of armor be able to sell it with as much ease as a crafter, it would just be unfair to the crafters who took the time to gain those lvs and craft the item if you could sell it on a whim when you were done with it. if the gil is that important for you then take the time to have it repaired but it's just a dumb idea to have NPCs offer 100% repairs when the option to have it done through NPC or player creates a small gil sink which doesn't become to overwhelming on draining gil. Of course you can earn a lot of gil from leves and such, but still 4k times 12 is 48k which can add up based on what you are doing.

Then again if you are willing to have things repaired to 99% then it doesn't sound like you are having much problem with gil so why would you want to sell said pieces back anyway.

The repair system is fine as it is, it's balanced enough to allow fighters to have their gear in tip top shape if they die a lot and an option to resell any piece of armor that's crafted as long as it's 100% including gear with materia on it. So really 14 has a pretty open idea when it comes to reselling, nothing is ever permanent aside from untradable/unique gear.
