IMO, the devs should have added a few new low level areas before making the campaign. I can see the current campaign bringing back some people that already had a level 40+ class or with enough friends to level with, but everyone else is stuck doing the same thing as 2010: Grindan dem leves.
its not that theres nothing to do till your 50 so much. The problem is that you hit 50 so fast now theres no point doing anything. I know theres not alot to do before 50, but when xp was slower and you could make more use of the lower lvl NM gear, we used to farm it all the time. And now they have that starter dungeon as well. I would say they need some 35-40 content, but with how fast xp is, who's gonna stop to do it when hey are only 1 wolf camp party from 50.

SO where is this once in a lifetime content? the battles that have been here since 1.21?? The Raids that have 1/1000 chance of dropping anything worth wearing??? the new Primal that no one fights cuz its "too hard" and no one wants to bother doing cuz anyone who wasnt too stupid or proud got all the items they needed/wanted from it?? I wonder how many people actually came back to check it out, and how many of them are impressed enough to stay
once in a lifetime = the story

You should really start fresh, on a new server, know no one, and some how wipe your brain of any "pl" places you know if, and realise just how NOT fast XPing to 50 is.

Dont say its fast and easy when you already have:
    - Existing 50's
    - Multiple sets of gear
    - Plenty of Gil
    - Lots of Friends
    - An LS
    - Lots of Experience
    - Can be PL'd

There isn't much to do before 50? Really?

I recently came back to the game, made a new character and started all over again. I found there was so many things to do I simply didn't have time for it all. Let's see, before 50 we have:

    - leveling your "main class" + sub classes for abilities (obviously)
    - crafting and gathering (assuming you want to level them in addition to one DoW/DoM class)
    - class questlines for all classes (4 quests from level 20 to 36 for each DoW / DoM class)
    - main scenario quests (11 quests from level 1 to 46)
    - grand company quests (you can do 5 for each grand company between levels 22-25, then there are 5 for your own grand company between levels 22-45, plus some extra ones)
    - you can do easy Ifrit and Toto-Rak at level 25
    - you can explore Sphoshae at level 15-30 (depending on your group size)
    - you can do some general exploring / node hunting on every zone at any level
    - you can start your job quests at level 30 and do one of them every 5 levels until 50
    - you can hunt NMs for lower level weapons and gear (level 25 and 35 at least)
    - then there are the sidequests, you can do 15 of them in La Noscea, Black Shroud and Thanalan areas for the achievement

I wouldn't say there's nothing to do before level 50. It's just that most players are in such a hurry to get there and don't do any of this stuff before they've reached the cap.

I'm not saying we have too much low level content (I would prefer having a lot more and maybe even capped content for levels 20-40) and there definitely should be more of it, but I personally felt I was leveling up faster than doing things I was "supposed to" do at those levels.

Despite the "not much to do low level" I guarantee a lot NA players responded the leveling speed in just fine in the poll question.

Thats because you want to go and do all those things and enjoy it, it might even be a first for you, for others...

    Levelling, same shit, different game.
Crafting, boring, 10 days dont wanna waste it on craft, not like you can sell anything ward full...
Class quests, depends how far you wish to level, you only get 3, and they all very dull and solo.
Grand company quests, again solo content, and its very boring
You can only do mini ifrit once, Toto-rak dries up fast
You can do sphoshae but its very boring, theres nothing in there worthwhile to run multiple times.
Why explore when everything is copy/pasted
Job quests are pretty good, but again its back to levelling.
The NMs are a lol. They're nothing special sadly,
The side quests are a lol. Again, nothing special, and insanely dull, especially when compared to say GW2 ><

If you have plenty of time, and you're happy to overlook a lot of things, game is great.

But when you quit because you cant overlook things and SE gives you 10 days to be impressed, it is unlikely you will be impressed.

Nooooo...someone wants to do something in an MMO and others simply may not want to? UNNNNNNNPOSSIBLE!

especially when compared to say GW2 ><
You said the same thing about SWTOR. So what if something is different compared to "x mmo"..two different MMOs.

But when you quit because you cant overlook things and SE gives you 10 days to be impressed, it is unlikely you will be impressed.
Yet people, especially those of you who've been playing and paying already won't be impressed because they instantly thought it would be a totally different experience from the last 2 - 3 months they didn't want to play the game but paid to still access the forum.

A HELL of a lot of people I know who quit in 2010 and early 2011 were impressed with how much XIV has to offer and changed in comparison, the one thing that will never change and be the death of 2.0 is the community, however.

Not really sure how to respond to you, not making much sense to what I said :/

Glad you notice people who are impressed with what XIV has to offer right now, unfortunately though many comments on community sites and player base disagrees.

I guess it comes down to 2 things
    - D3 is now lol
    - Waiting on 2.0

He is, I've seen him around quite a bit prior to this campaign even started so he's either trolling or just venting and using this as a scapegoat >.>
