I have to agree that this welcome back was a complete and utter sham, I invited 3 friends back, and all of them have the same opinion "Yep that confirms it, XIV is still as shit as it was when I last played".

Lets go through the struggles

Servers being Locked
Great, so they cant move to my server. They didnt have pre-50s, only 1 did, but he was merged to the Auto Server which I wasnt on, and he couldnt reroll on my server because its locked. So we was all forced to reroll as level 1 on another server.

Crappy low level content
There is just absolute nothing to do, they left doing leves, they come back "What can we do", "We can do leves!" /logout, but it is the only real way to level outside being PL'd, and because we rerolled on a new server, know no one, we cant be PL'd, so back to the old fashion crappy ways. We only have 10 days and we have to churn out this rubbish.

Experience once in a life time Umbral Event
I am sorry, this is the same shit that was here last patch, its not special for these 10 days, nothing good happened, could youtube it and experience it. But what is worse is the fact that this is level 50 content that requires a damn party to even do, unless there are other people there. But because its the same old crap content everyones done it. So lol@Experience it, very few would be able to, under the right strict conditions. So they didnt get to do anything of that. They just looked at them and laughed because they dont attack unless you "sign up" lol. Threatening...

More levelling! to 25 we go!
So what can we do at 25, Toto-Rak, oh joy. Thats fun /cry, I had already burned myself on Toto-Rak as its the only decent way to get Seals, so I was not looking forward to this. Same for one of my other friends who had a pre50 in that he just did it lots of times when it was released. We didnt last long there.

What next? What can SE suggest?
One of their welcome back messages go "Come experience the Inn"............ LOL "step in" "woo experienced!" are you kidding me?... Maybe we can go to that level 15 dungeon or w/e, *30 mins later* ok this is Cassi v2, after living there during beta, its not fun.

Missions!
Lets do those, oh wait they all solo (low level ones). "Welcome back friends, now go play on ur own in an mmo".

10 days, not impressive, complete sham, rocked the confidence of my friends for 2.0 and they couldnt make it past the 5th day, why? Diablo 3, a well polished and new exciting game, something XIV is not right now.

Yoshi relies on us (because he has mentioned it about 3 times) to tell our friends to come back, but when we do all we get is some dried up bread rather than a gorgeous cake, I know personally the game isnt where it is supposed to be, but I would have at least thought there might be something during the Umbral that ANYONE at ANY LEVEL could experience, but I was wrong. I also think these 10 days would have severed better later on, like during the 2.0 beta or something.

This is just the result of me and my friends having a crappy experience, but then reading comments on community websites, its a shared experience.

The only good thing they can sum up, is that they're happy the lag from release is gone, and that the game is slowly going in the right direction, but there isn't enough for them to see any changes. Especially when everything content related is pretty much end-game now.

Heh, feels like Deja Vu in a way. Few people I know tried to come back and mostly wanted to see what jobs had to offer. Sure enough, they got to the AF phase and a majority of them hit a brick wall when it came to the duneon/body parts since everyone pretty much has their AF at this point and doesn't want to help a total stranger. Heck, someone offered 100K ea. for help just to get his. Pretty bad you need to rely on the kindness of strangers (or pay them) just for something that simple.

IIRC you also criticized the fact people that came back also had no ability to post feedback in another topic, which I totally agree with was a bad move on SE's part. You'd think they'd actually want to listen to potential customers.

I cant confirm that. I kinda ran into a couple Groups doing AF-Runs and also Stuff like Darkhold/AV/CC.. people just joined them. Noone had to pay or shit like that. I see shouts really often, to be honest.

No one is saying "It is impossible to get AF or X Content done that Requires people" but it is very difficult.

Some servers can be busy, at all times of the day and people be able to get things done all the time. I find it very difficult to get any group stuff done being in the GMT Timezone when there is half late JP on and early day US on, but hardly, ever any shouts, I often just watch them while crafting, and some people shout for 2-3 hours straight lol. But then around 2-3 AM my time, when its evening in US, it can be shout frenzy and people able to do stuff.

The point is, a lot of things require specific set of conditions to do something: Be right server, right time, right zone, right requirements and have dumb luck.

I only managed to get my blm and war AF Recently after weeks of failed PT setups, not failed because people were bad, just we'd always be 4/8 or 6/8 or not have that 1 class we need (tank or healer).

I feel sorry for the people who are trying to experience as much as possible during the 10 times, it is also absolutely retarded of SE to do this during Diablo 3 time, are they bonkers? I dont even like the game but damn XIV has gone quiet on my server. Have 10 days free anytime but this time! Worse possible moment, especially when there is nothing to do.

Anyone who just came back, unless they have friends with ls's, i think will have a very hard time enjoying this game right now.

It was already clear since the first annoncement, that "Experience once in a life time Umbral Event" mean until 2.0, because after 2.0 this isn't a part of the game anymore. Nowhere was written it would be a 10 days only event. And you don't need to be lv 50, only a member in a grand company. Because a big part of the event are grand company quests.

You dont need to be 50 by requirement, but go there as level 25 and watch you cry as you're 1 shotted, heck even 30, 35, its pointless. Even 50 is pointless unless there is a group of people because there is to many imperials attacking at once, so you just die too fast.

Also, we did know about this whole umbral activity, but it was my understanding that the imperial activity changed from time to time, it hasnt been the same stuff each patch, it changed, but this patch, during the welcome back, it was the same garbage as last patch.

Due to this no one does it. lol

The welcome back people only get 10 days to come back and "Experience" this umbral/imperial experience, and sadly what they experienced was not only garbage but un-accessable for us due to low level, and a lot of others.
