No. They do not belong in FFXIV.
No. They do not belong in FFXIV.
With what I'm suggesting, it could be a simple option turned on/off by the player.
Care to explain why?No. They do not belong in FFXIV.

FFXIV's aesthetics really don't support ragdoll physics. It would look incredibly out of place if Ifrit flung across the map on the killing blow. Yes, it's a fun and silly thing to have in games but in my opinion for FFXIV it would be completely unnessasary and a waste of resources.
Because it would break the overall style of animations that this game carries. It doesn't fit the world. This game is priding itself on its character animations. A tactless ragdoll physic doesn't mesh with it. Ragdoll has always just seemed lazy to me.

Why did I think of ifirit getting hit by guitars with this post?
On topic: It's to costly on resorces in this type of game. I don't know any other mmos that have ragdolls.
I cant support this! XD
Ragdoll is still a very much "unclean" style of physics in gaming even today, so yeah it's fun and silly..it's just that, it doesn't really add overly much to a game beyond the potential for funny glitches, if XIV went a more cartoony route or grunge route like skyrim, it could work very well given the art direction.
I completely agree with this. Ragdoll physics was a good theory but it never quite reached the level of functionality that one would expect. When it's placed in games now it becomes more comedic and ridiculous than anything else. With that being said it certainly has no place in this game.
To me it wouldn't really add anything. It's not really an action game and that's where I like my ragdoll physics.
