    What else would you call a 15 minute ability?... It is the definition of a crutch in terms of gaming. Its a strong ability that is designed to turn the tides of a battle in your favor. He is saying that they shouldn't be required to win, but useful if things go wrong.

    Which I understand, but if stuff is already going wrong chances are those 15-20 seconds aren't going to save you..

    There are dozens of situations where a 15 minute could save the party from a wipe.
    -If a whm runs out of MP, warrior could Mighty Strikes and heal himself to full with a combo.
    -If a pld is low on HP after a big hit, they can invincible and give the whm a chance to catch up on heals.
    -Bard can keep a party alive from a bosses two hour when they normally would have died.
    -Monk can attempt to finish off a boss if the tank dies when close to victory.
    -Whm is pretty obvious I think

    And those are just the generic situations, there are plenty of others.

    Again, yes useful, I am not refuting that, but stay on topic, we are talking about Burst, and the effectiveness of it. The examples you gave can be used in any scenario, and if shit does hit the fan and you are required to use these abils by all means do so, but if you are having to use these abils on a consistent basis to WIN then you're doing it wrong..

    I use the abils during primals cause of the 15 min wait, but would I need them to win, hahaha nope..
