The problem itself is due to the limitations the class system places on the Job system.

Want a cool job like Ninja that uses a sickle/chain as a weapons? Well too bad becasue there isn't a class that uses one. Want a Scyth or Greatsword job? Too bad!

Though that allows them to keep adding new classes along with new jobs for exactly that reason. I agree that it's a little restrictive but it's not impossible for them to do.
