I'm all for overcoming adversity and using lesser appreciated classes and jobs but I don't want my race to be part of that. I don't want to feel like I'm gimped just because I chose Hyur over Miqo'te or Roegadyn.

Even in FFXI racial bonuses, while nice, hardly mattered except at the very very very very peak of perfection and elitist groups and runs.

Unless you are planning on getting into a pissing contest for the #1 DPS in the server it shouldn't really throw anything off balance. Besides you're a Hyur, you would be the most balanced out of all the races anyways. No one would ever deny you a slot because of it.

I don't really ever want ANYONE to be denied a slot because of race choice. Doesn't matter how much the difference actually matters, you know as well as I do that the community shuns anything that's non-optimal.

Borrowing races =/= direct clone. If you also recall, there weren't any female Galka. Now we're getting female Roegadyn. They've become their own thing now.

Chocobos look different with each iteration, moogles look different, Cid looks different. Why are Roegadyn/Galka special?
