It was never said that the April event was the majority of a patch. He said that 1.17 was 70% of the original content planned for 1.17 and that the other 30% would come in 1.17a. He said that the April event was part of that patch, nothing more nothing less.

60% of this entire patch IS the egg hunt.
10% of this first patch is more UI tweaking and bugfix

1.17a (AKA planning to prepare to update for content that they don't have yet)
10% something that can be remotely skewed to affect 8 man raid teams, like SP gain adjustment and crowd control tweaks. Or hahahaha maybe some big ol' nerfing action.
20% UI tweaking and bugfixes

Hey if none of you all knew that your content is the laughing stock of the MMO-playing world, this is your notification thread. If SE thought things were getting better, I gotta be the one to say no. We're still sinking. Get back to work on things that matter and stop looking like you're dicking around with an Egg hunt on the deck of the titanic.

If people like me put the game down because fanboys are sending signals to SE that this is good enough, this game's finished. You all will never be worth subscription fee-quality content, because you don't need it. You'll play maple story fodder.

Square Enix, with that letter, sent a message to the players that matter that they don't need to bother with this game. It's still just egg hunts and bull****.

I will not let fanboys send that kind of message to Square that this is ok. Sorry.

I'd like to make you aware that agreeing with you isn't a prerequisite for being intelligent and not being a fanboy.

It's pretty obvious you still have alot of faith in SE Abriael. You still think they have what it takes to deliver and fix the game. I still think they do too. I'm just concerned with the image they are starting to get by hyping content while releasing other smaller stuff. It seems like the Yoshi infusion is wearing off for some people and Peregrine is a good example of that.

I learned never to have "faith". But I also applaud effort and hard work when I see it.
As for Yoshida's enthusiasm being bad for some, i'm not at all surprised. I know gamers quite well, and I know how much some would love to see him always sad, negative, prostrated and apologizing. It's an ego matter, and the ego of some gamers is extremely pleased by seeing a developer licking their boots after a game had a rocky release.

Personally, I like positive people, I don't feel the need to have my boots licked, and I can appreciate someone (especially a team leader) who is enthusiastic about a challenge that could easily send his whole career against a brick wall if he fails.

I do want to ask though, have you been satisfied with the updates so far? Have there been any updates that you were disappointed in when taken one by one?

Some updates I agree with, some I disagree with, but I'm not as arrogant as to believe that the devs should necessarily tailor the game over my taste and vision. The day I notice that the disagreement outweights the agreement, I'll simply quit and look for another game instead of trolling the forums of a game I don't like for months. Until then (if it'll ever happen), I'll enjoy what I agree with.
But one thing is for sure. I can easily see that there is a lot of hard work going on behind the scenes, the *amount* of updates is even superior to my expectations, considering that they're having to rework the basics of the game. If people think that they could do it faster, I'm afraid that there are some big delusions in place. And I'm not a fan of being delusional.
