I'm just glad I quit the day before the patch notes went live so I didn't have to feel like a shmuck after reading them.

Most people already know that Events are created by barely a handful of people who aren't even development members. XI's events were handled by a single person conceptually and all they did was use existing assets to create the event. If it distracts from development time that means they're horrendously understaffed.
The only people I see complaining are extremely bitter over a video game.
Sooo...it looks worse to release something to do then nothing, just because its content that you personally aren't going to do. Gotcha. You know you sound as though you have no hope of this game ever getting better, maybe you might want to try something else for a while? Take a break, let your blood pressure drop, and have an easter egg.Your all's reading comprehension never ceases to not amaze.
Doesn't matter one bit if it affects other development or not. Release after release, this kind of crap content is all they're producing.
You don't get it. They don't get it. No holiday is better than a holiday. At least you don't remind people your product continues to be crap and give them another excuse to not check back until summer.
Straight over your head, you don't understand how bad this looks.
I don't know if you read the Producer's letter yet, oh Venerable Jennestia Who Apparently Knows Everything, but Yoshi conceded that they won't be releasing the event for next month (children's day) because they wanted to allocate their staff to more pressing matters. Most people already know that Events are created by barely a handful of people who aren't even development members. If staff need to be recalled from the events projects, then it stands to reason that they are a meaningful taskforce which can be used in other ways.
Going off Yoshi's letter, I therefore concluded that the staff members who create and code the events can in fact be put to better use.
But if you know more than Yoshi does, by all means, elaborate.

The reason they are forgoing the May seasonal content is because the April Seasonal content is being released later than they want it to. There is no sense in having two seasonal events if one of them is going to be significantly cut short due to the delay the power situation caused. There is no mention of reallocating staff you completely made that up to falsely support your ridiculous claim.Even so, this still won’t make up for all of the time lost from our original schedule.(referring to shutting down right after the quake) As a result, unfortunately, we’re going to have to forgo the event planned for a national Japanese holiday in early May. Since the April seasonal event kicks off later than intended, it will continue even after April 24th in the real world—whatever that day may be.
Did it occur to anyone that perhaps the Easter event was already partially developed or perhaps slightly reworked to not include the bells (since having the bells would have cause all manner of bawwing). Now obviously the event is worth mentioning as they needed to roll it into the first part of the update to make it relevant to the coinciding holiday. Point is, the damn thing is done. There is no time machine to go back and undo the event and "better use their time." So I fail to see what all this pointless bickering is going to accomplish. Developing and running a MMO is sort of like being the President. No matter what you do or say, someone is going to be pissed off.
Just your friendly neighborhood elezen

Yeah and the april event is being pushed back because of time lost from development, indicating that significant development time goes into events.*sigh*

No. Once again with the false information.
The April content was pushed back because the patch that it was supposed to be released with was pushed back because of a tragedy that killed over 10,000 people.
Just stop... you have no clue what you're talking about and you are doing nothing but making up BS to fit neatly into the argument you want to make.
Still don't get it. Yes it looks worse to release something of this nature rather than nothing, because while most people will buy the argument that they're working hard on companies, jobs, and battle engines...this kind of crap is exactly the kind of thing people quit the game over. Worthless content release after worthless content releas,. as major errors stand uncorrected.Sooo...it looks worse to release something to do then nothing, just because its content that you personally aren't going to do. Best to just continue to talk about companies and the battle engine. People are looking for more of the same oblivious egg hunt trash content as an excuse to stay away from the game. Now they have it. And that's worse than nothing. Better to keep your mouth shut than open it and prove you're not capable of fixing the game. This is proof to people that they aren't capable of fixing the game, whether you think it's not or what. That's what it looks like to more people than this game still contains.
Your egg hunts in light of a game where every single significant aspect needs improvement are making people uninstall the game. And you just don't get it. Wake up.
